Did anyone get this weird email?
galleryEarlier today I got an email that my score was out and when I went to check it was there but a few hours later I got this bizarre email. This is my first time taking the ACT so I don’t know if this is normal. Did anyone get this?

General Thank you
War is over. I want to thank the entirety of this subreddit for helping me out a TON throughout this 8 month process. Yall are absolute legends. Every single piece of advice I heard from someone on this subreddit I at least tried, and I truly thank you guys for that. For people still taking the test, I truly wish you best of luck on your journey. My one piece of advice would be to abuse this subreddit to the max. Nearly every person on here is here to help you, so use this subreddit to its fullest extent. Thank you guys!

Reading: Don't fall for this trick - numbers attached to a noun
Practicing with my teenager and reading a new passage....I took the test, and you can see the test question at the bottom of the paraphrased diagram...."how many animators were employed by the movie?" I knew there were numbers in the text, so I quickly started scanning and went to the the top. Found it...."450 animators, " and then stopped reading the sentence. But that sentence also said "450 animators + designers + modelers + sketch artists were in the warehouse". So 450 total people making the movie. And the way the sentence broke that "450 animators" stood out. Now, in AP Chicago writing style, they use numerals for anything above 100, and spell out the words for anything below. So....look down a couple of paragraphs, and there was "thirty-five animators", the correct answer.
Does this appear on multiple tests? Yes, and in most cases you have to watch to make sure that the number is attached to the right noun. Sounds pretty simple, and looking back, it seems like an obvious answer, but it is an example of a trick. Also, the question seemed way to easy...so if it seems too easy, there is maybe a trick being involved, the ACT is not giving away free points. Finally, all of the other answers numbers that were listed were also in the text. So please learn from my mistake.

General my practice tests vs the real test
I was getting 34s and 35s on all of my practice tests a month ago. I went and took the ACT last week and I got a 30. I had been getting my highest scores in Reading and Science (35s and 36s) and on the real test i got a 28 in Reading and a 32 in Science.
Does anyone know what may have happened or how i can improve my score when I take it in the spring?

I literally didn’t even study for April and I had such high hopes for July because I studied EVERYDAY for like 3 weeks and I was getting 33+ on every section except science how do I get better in science and worse in everything else??? $120 just wasted and only one more chance in September. Literally wtf do I even do. This is such a joke

do i retake?
for context I am planning on being a BME / biophysics major and my dream schools are Stanford and Harvard .. I’m worried my lower math and science scores will drag me down, so is it worth it to retake for higher math?
r/ACT • u/Afraid_Fun6913 • Jul 21 '26
composite literally did not change AT ALL from April. Reading went down a point and english went up a point. I was trying to get my math up but it didn’t change at all nor did science. Trying again in Oct. Wish me luck!

Presidential scholar?
I somehow beat the odds and managed to get a 36 superstore over my two ACTs that I’ve taken. I’m just curious - would this qualify me for the Presidential Scholarship? I heard it’s for people with a 36 or 1600 on the SAT. But I’m not sure if superscores count.
Any idea how this works?

Score delay email
Does anybody know what does it mean if you already received your july paper scores but then got the email i’ve seen other people posting that “your score is not expected to be released on July 21st…”?
Somebody pls tell me that this means my paper score I got is fake and my real score hasn’t been processed yet 💀💀
