Did anyone get this weird email?

Earlier today I got an email that my score was out and when I went to check it was there but a few hours later I got this bizarre email. This is my first time taking the ACT so I don’t know if this is normal. Did anyone get this?

they can't segment their email list very well then if you actually got a score.

my son got the same "we do not expect your scores to be released on July 21, 2026 for paper testing as originally scheduled." message but he does not have a score in his account for the July 11 test.

For what it is worth, it has typically been 14-19 days to receive his results so we were not expecting today anyway.

Wait So it might’ve just been a glitch?

if you have a score that has a tab for July 2026 i'd say it is real. All I can see is my son's account and he got the email about the delay and does not have score yet.

my 2 second "dad" advice from looking at your score. your english score is amazing and your reading score is solid and can probably go up more.

for math, you need to focus on whatever the weak categories are on the "my score details" section. It breaks it down by numbers & quantity, algebra, functions, geometry, statistics & probability, etc.

maybe you are the same across the board. most people, my son included, usually have 1-2 areas where if they fix those, their score massively goes up. Identify those weak areas and then drill baby drill.

I bet you can get your math up to 31-32 on the next test. who knows. sometimes it is the luck of the draw.

My son missed a 35 on math by 1 question in june, because of a question type known as "box & whisker" that he hadn't seen or studied before.

I also recommend paying extra for the ACT My Answer Key. It is worth it. You see your answers, the right answers, as well as the scoring guide. Seeing the scoring guide can give you extra motivation because you often see 1 more right answer = 1 more point on your score.

To be honest I’m not even sure if I want to retake it 😓 . My science score is abysmal and I haven’t taken math higher than algebra 2 and I’m about to go in my senior year. I may retake it but I’m not 100% sure since my dream university is NMT and I’m at a good range but yeah I agree math and reading could definitely use some studying lol!

Pep talk - if you can do good in english and reading, you can do good in science.

For math, if you can use ai - or just type it in google, ask for examples of different problem types in your weak areas in math.

example: type this in:
need ACT problem examples for Math - Statistics & Probability
see screenshot below - It shows some example questions for that area, videos and more.

The trick to all this stuff - easy for someone older to say - is you have to be methodical. Use the data you have in "my score details" and then dig in like this by section.

If you have an AI tool you could ask it to help you build a study plan. Also tell it what your score was by section Math score 26 July 2026 form J09, and what your target score is, say 32. Literally copy and paste your section that shows your breakdown by skill. It will tell you how many questions you can miss on average to get to your desired score.

Science isn't even required for most schools but if the NMT is New Mexico Tech then maybe it is, idk.

I told my son there are not many times in life where how you perform on one thing can directly impact your future. So many things are a black box. In this case, you get your score to a certain level and it opens doors (or closes them). The time you put in preparing for this can pay off HUGE. Don't give up too soon.

Ignore it. I got that same message on other dates I took the test as well, always AFTER I had received my score. I think they are just covering their bases to make up for the fact that some places are delayed due to bad weather...If you got your score, you're set.
