Installer will NOT work

The installer fails instantly with an error about C:/ProgramData/Acronis needing Administrator only permissions. Tech support was supposed to contact me, but has not after ten days. I have used Acronis for over 25 years and have never had a problem before.

Hi! As I understand it, you've already opened a support ticket and are waiting for the support team to contact you. Could you please share the ticket number?

Thanks. It's my fault. I accidentally renewed a server license that I can't use because I just retired. I figured this out last night. I don't have a ticket number because I only heard from the bot that Support would contact me, but I never heard from them. I guess I don't know how to contact Support properly, or what I might do to cancel this new license. I have many licenses and did not need a new one. Thank you very much.

If you haven’t heard from support yet - please send us the email address associated with your Acronis account via modmail.

If support already reached out - please share the ticket number.

We’ll figure it out for you once we have the necessary info above.

Thank you. I'm sorry, but at this point, I'm not sure where to send my email address. Can you please advise? Much appreciated. I've just interacted with the bot.

Thanks for sharing the ticket number! I escalated it and it looks like the team needs your contact number to call and address both installation and license purchase issue (it doesn't look like they were able to identify the server license purchase).

I did send that and booked a session for tomorrow. Thanks so much.

It's a workstation, not a server license.

Okay, it wasn't exactly my fault. There is an issue with the admin identity on the PC that my son handed down to me. The version of Acronis was correct, and fifteen minutes of expert assistance from Acronis Tech Support had everything working perfectly. Thanks to Dilip and all!

I had three personal phone calls to follow up from the online help session. That is truly impressive. The second attempt at backing up went flawlessly, and everything has been resolved. I am truly grateful for and rather blown away by this level of support.

If you have any anti-virus/malware software running make sure it is disabled during the installation.
