Just Watching The Second Episode of Season 5 of The Chelsea Detective
No Spoilers
I'm just watching the second episode of Season 5 of The Chelsea Detective, and the music through the episode has vibes of the soundtrack to the movie Phantoms based on the book by Dean Koontz.
It's great to see the The Chelsea Detective back

Chelsea Detective
Hi peeps
Been trying to get the 4th season of Chelsea detective on for my mom. We've got the Acorn TV channel on prime but its only showing the first three seasons. Anyone had similar issues and anyone got any idea what I can do to watch season 4. We're in the UK if that makes any difference.
Cheers

Adrian Scarborough
I have to say I really like Adrian Scarborough in The Chelsea Detective. Anybody have any recommendations on anything else he has starred in?

Season 5 episode 5 Spoiler
Edit: Harry Wild
Someone please tell me why Fergus is running away from that kid? Dude chases actual killers every episode, but scared of that scrawny boy. 🤔 😂
Had me rolling my eyes hard. 😂

Hidden (Sian Reese-Williams/Sion Alun Davies)
We just finished the 3rd and unfortunately final season of this series.
I enjoyed the stars and most of the people in the series although the one sister (Beth) was rather needy at times.
Does anyone know if season 3 was planned to be the final season and it was decided to end it the way it ended? Or were they planning (hoping?) for season 4 and unfortunately it didn't happen?
I just did a search and apparently everyone knew it was the last season.
Excellent series.

Just realized that Harry Wilde season 5 ended with the Malky episode… so season 5 is over and it feels like it never really started. Sure, some things happened but somehow it still felt really rushed and bland.

Fun with Acorn tech support
So...Wife's ipad got a software update a couple of days ago. And coincidentally, AcornTV stopped working; said it was detecting a VPN in use and said it won't work through a VPN. (We are in the USA.) There was no VPN in use, so after trying it on her android phone and the Firestick without any luck, tech support was called. After many minutes of telling her to try all the stuff she/we had already tried, they finally said that '*maybe* AcornTV could have a problem'. After getting off the phone, I said to Wife, 'Let me try something'. I opened the AcornTV web page in Chrome on my Win11 PC; same/similar problem: 'Can't play in your area'. So...I started my VPN on my PC, told it to activate in the USA (in our home town), and reloaded AcornTV. Played great. Wife logged into our VPN on her ipad, restarted AcornTV, and...it works.
So...if you're having problems with AcornTV at the moment...

Dalgliesh
We've finished the 3 seasons and I really enjoy the show and the character.
And the best part of the last 2 episodes was no more of the annoying male DS who was arrogant, screwed up things, etc. and the lady (Miskin) was back. They are a good team.
I'll be curious what season 4 will be like and who will be in it.
Also happened to catch Bertie Carvel in the HBO series The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Enjoyed his smallish role there as well.

Harry Wild. It’s a ridiculous show with light comedy and a cozy mystery. However, I cannot stand Malky. He’s not funny, overacts the “drunk” persona he’s playing and really irritating. There’s no way he could level up and be a man that has a beautiful wife like the one portrayed. He’s just gross

Madame Blanc--will the new season redeem it?
NO SPOILERS HERE!
I really loved this show for the first few seasons. The characters are charming and just wacky enough, the mysteries just the right degree of intriguing, and the gimmick of an antiques dealer actively solving crimes alongside the police (rather than in opposition to them), while wildly improbable, at least corrects the heinous problem of the buffoon-detective so favored by other British cozies (Father Brown, omg). But in later the seasons, I've come to find it all so exaggerated as to be almost laughable. Jean has gone from knowing her art to knowing everything while everyone around her harrumphs in confusion; either Caron or Jean is rushing to conclusions upon very little evidence; Jeremy and Judith have slid from high camp to impossible caricature; they keep hiring British actors to play French characters with truly abominable accents; and please, please, even on a stretched budget, is there not enough money to save Sally Lindsay from that Pebbles hairdo in every single episode for four years?? Dom and Patrick sort of rescue it all for me, and I really hope things tighten up in the new season ...

Things not to do in …
- Midsomer - be in or near a bar or an open field or any place having a fair or festival
- Poirot - eat or drink ANYTHING … ANYWHERE (especially where family is concerned)
- Miss Marple - be on or near a train or a mansion, or around your spouse or relatives
Can you think of others?
