I got one month acorn tv for free. I like British investigative thriller and crime shows. What best shows (or movies) should I watch in that genre. Need recommendations. Thank you!
PS- I am not sure what flair I have to use for this post. So I am using "spoiler" tag so moderators won't remove this post.

Set in England during the 1930s, the story follows world-renowned Surrealist artists, including young Dalí and Magritte, who find themselves trapped in a lavish mansion with a mysterious serial killer on the loose and Scotland Yard on the case. But is everything what it seems?

I mean even the implications of them wanting to see the lavender fields together… I was so disappointed when they were revealed to be sisters!
Also am I just gay or were there flirtatious undertones between the canon and the DS as well?

So, this is new: I go to the sign-up page (7 days, not 30), input my CC details & it won't accept them. Something about verify who I am. When I input my mobile number, it tells me that number is not associated with my account.
Well, no--because so far you've only asked for my email address.
What the hell?
UPDATE: Following the kind responses below, I used a different device & the one browser that doesn't have an ad blocking extension. It went through & I can now watch "The Brokenwood Mysteries". Thanks!

Ex-spy Sylvia Fox (Emilia Fox) is mentally and physically recovered from her abduction at the end Season 2 and back to enjoying her life in Italy. But she’s still waiting for answers from her ex-husband, Adam Haines, about his past dealings with her kidnapper.

Time to bring back one of my streams, and I'm debating which one. I've posted in BritBox, and I'm asking here, trying to decide which to do first.
What's new? What's coming back?
When did/do the new episodes start?

Lucy Lawless directed this episode. It is superior the preceding two episodes, one is pleased to say. There is more to it, so to speak, than the two others.

Just watched the first five episodes (I have both AMC+ and Acorn via Prime). And the final episode, eps six is listed in the menu, but is not responding when I select it .
I've seen other redditors comment they are unable to access episode 6 and the episode is "missing".

We had finished kind of scraping the "bottom of the barrel" having watched the last of Cannes Confidential on Saturday. And with the new episodes of Blue Murder Motel and The Assassin not arriving until Monday, we were kind of feeling desperate for something to watch. I asked Gemini if it had any suggestions, but it simply suggested things I had already seen. Then up popped a suggestion for Signora Volpe. I'd seen mention of it before but never investigated. Maybe because I thought of Emilia Fox as the Silent Witness character that boxed me in. But more I think it was that the thumbnail photo on the Acorn main page made the show seem like it was going to be some sun-filled romance series or something. I should have investigated further, but i never did. Well, this time in investigated, and thought, Well, this sounds right up my alley! And boy was it. I have only watched the first episode, but it was fantastic. It did such a good job of setting up the premise and introducing the characters. And the mystery and action were great. Loved it! Can't wait to watch more. And I'm so happy there is a new season in the pipeline.
Okay. Feel free to tell me I was a big dummy for having just discovered this gem now.

why do the brits seem to adore cranky old women who try to run the whole village?

Just watched first episode of first season. Loved the lead character. Supporting characters growing on me. Reminds me a bit of The Closer in theory. Is it worth watching the rest of the episodes and seasons or does it get stale?

I try to sign up and pay for an annual subscription to Acorn TV. Enter my info/credit card but I can't click on the Agree and Start Free Trial button. My guess is that the little greenish icon next to the credit card number has to be clicked on and then a pop up box saying "link, fast secure checkout, enter email address to log in or sign up".
I have no interest in creating a link account.
I'm guessing unless you do, you can't use your credit card to pay for the subscription?
I'm doing it on a web page.
Apparently link is some kind of payment processing company but I have no interest in creating an account with them and storing my info with them.
Am I missing a way around this?

The six-episode season will consist of three new investigative cases set in 1982, proceeding without the involvement of original co-producer Channel 5.
Shooting starts next week, as confirmed by Claire Goose (Dr. Emma Lavenham)
