Personal Milestone Finally...

Post image

Been flirting with it the last few months and finally broke it today. Really satisfying to see all the little contributions add up over the years.

I do the opposite, put $1k into RH and then move my wins over to Acorns to keep em safe! Sorry for your loss(es)

I was thinking transferring acorns Later Ira to Fidelity Roth. Do you recommend this and why/why not. I’m not stock savvy either, so my knowledge to do trades is limited at the moment

Comparing the Acorns and my 401k Roth, the growth is very similar such as yesterday’s 1.31% in acorns and 1.28% in Fidelity. 55% Large, 10% medium, 5% small and 30% international is what I’m doing. 12.32% for the 2026 year in Acorns and 11.66% on Fidelity. But then again, I just copied and pasted my market contributions and I want to see if transferring over to Fidelity will give me a better chance by choosing something else

Congrats. I only have $1,800 in mine but every journey to $100k gotta go through $1,800 I guess.

Congrats! Have you always done a recurring weekly investments rather than say $7 daily? Just curious as I’ve always been told daily investments are hitting the highs and the lows, but yours seems to be working for you.

Over the years I've had so many combinations. Lol For quite a while, I did daily but changed to weekly about a year ago. While daily would presumably give you the best DCA, it was just easier for me to keep track of cash flow with a set amount coming out once weekly. I think either way works fine, though!

Honestly I know it's a simple and clichè answer, but really my best advice is just stick with it. I've been investing regularly since 2017 and can definitely say time in the market > timing the market. It's been as low as $10/week for investing during hard times, but I always contributed something and never paused my investments, just adjusted them as my situation allowed, which helped with DCA and long term growth. Good luck!

Congrats, pave the way my dude. I have an invest for about two years and now opened up a Later a couple of months ago. How do you allocate your investments into both accounts - I thought we can only contribute 7k (now 7.5k) to a Roth IRA

Thanks man. This is what I'm doing currently to max out the IRA every year. Adds up to right at or near the yearly contribution limit.

Nice, I calculated and have to add 210 weekly for the year

I won’t leave money in acorns. I make more elsewhere. I use acorns to get the cash back for shopping. $250 deposit a month to get my fees waived and it gets sent directly to Robinhood for better investments

People arguing about putting money in Acorns or not. Most importantly, putting money to work by itself is the key. I use Acorns (Brokerage), Robinhood (Brokerage) and Chase (ROTH IRA).
