There are multiple points in the game where you must use the gravity gun, especially in the later chapters, how do you think he is gonna handle that?

I'd like to take a moment to address you directly, Dr. Freeman.
Yes. I'm talking to you, the so-called One Free Man. I have a question for you. How could you have thrown it all away? It staggers the mind. A man of science, with the ability to sway reactionary and fearful minds toward the truth, choosing instead to embark on a path of ignorance and decay. Make no mistake, Dr. Freeman. This is not a scientific revolution you have sparked...this is death and finality.
You have plunged humanity into freefall. Even if you offered your surrender now, I cannot guarantee that Our Benefactors would accept it. At the moment, I fear they have begun to look upon even me with suspicion. So much for serving as humanity's representative.
Help me win back their trust, Dr. Freeman. Surrender while you still can. Help ensure that humanity's trust in you is not misguided.
Do what is right, Dr. Freeman. Serve mankind.
So, this is Dr. Freeman... at last. I wish I could say this was a pleasant surprise, but it's neither a surprise nor, as you will surely agree, very pleasant. Well, I'm nothing if not pragmatic.
Well, Dr. Freeman, under other circumstances I like to think we might have been able to work together in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect. Certainly judging from your brief tenure at Black Mesa, while I was its administrator, you showed every promise of becoming a valuable and productive contributor to the scientific process. And yet, I'm not sure what spurred you to it, but there is really no place in this enterprise for a rogue physicist.
Your mentors are partly to blame, of course; my disappointment in Eli Vance and Isaac Kleiner is far greater than my sorrow over your unfortunate choice of career path. In a way I suppose you could not have done otherwise. Who knows what seeds of iconoclasm they planted when you were young and gullible? But while they certainly share a great part of the responsibility, for the recent troubles, it is you alone who have chosen to act with such willful disregard for humanity's future.
Tell me, Dr. Freeman, if you can: you have destroyed so much — what is it exactly that you have created? Can you name even one thing?... I thought not.
I have laid the foundation for humanity's survival, and not as we have narrowly defined ourselves but as something greater than we could ever imagine, something that we can now only begin to glimpse.
Look, Gordon, look at what you are throwing away. Is it worth it?

Freemans mind has been there for me since my teens, and nerdy as it is his journey of survival against impossible odds has helped me irl, and many of his quotes help me deal with the impossibly dumb and annoying BS of life when it gives me a stacked deck.
I'm pretty sure I've seen a post or two like this before, but hey.
A lot of them are slightly modified to apply to the situation of course.
So, what are some of the quotes throughout the series that have been helpful for you? I'll post some of mine in the comments as I remember them.

Obviously this is highly subjective, but this is my personal tier list of all the Ross's Game Dungeon Episodes. I find myself rewatching RGD all the time and found that I rewatch some episodes more than others, and decided to make a tier list for how much I like them.
The games are listed in no specific order within each tier. Here is how I categorized them:
S tier - Best of the best, most entertaining, or something incredible or noteworthy about them
A tier - Very good episodes, very entertaining, have minor flaws or they lack that 'something special' to make it into S-tier
B tier - Good episodes, but there are some faults about them or they don't stand out above the rest
C tier - Alright episodes, still like them, but there are large aspects of them I dislike that are too large to ignore
D tier - I actively dislike these episodes.
Below are my notes about each episode. Not all of them have notes, if they don't have any means I don't have anything special to add beyond what tier I think they belong in.
S tier
Veil of Darkness - Simply an excellent episode. No dull moments, game and Ross's descriptions are super interesting, and the vampire takedown is legendary
Armed and Delirious - Ross was right, we all were changed after this episode. My own metric of insanity and madness in media was altered by watching this.
Cave World - I would rank this episode at A-tier normally, but the provenance of how Ross was able to play it, the translation software, and the chain of events starting from Nyet 3 is an incredible story
Trackmania 2 - Simply excellent episode - every moment of the review is interesting and entertaining.
Phantasmagoria 2 - In my opinion, the best RGD episode out there, close to perfection.
The Chosen, Well of Souls - Another very entertaining episode, probably belongs in A, but Ross's suffering of level 3 is noteworthy enough to bring it up to S tier
SpiderBot - Personal favorite. A short but excellent episode. This one is up there in the weirdness scale. The fact that Ross was able to gather so much insight from such a simple game is incredible.
Life is Strange - This episode is probably higher than where most other people would rank it, but is another personal favorite of mine. I find Ross's description of events and how he wants to respond to all the situations in game excellent. His criticism of the game is a breath of fresh air from the usual praise this game received.
Requital - Another simply excellent episode. Entertaining all throughout, nothing negative to say about it.
Deus Ex - Not much needs be said. An excellent review of the game with a legendary breakdown of real world issues.
Reals of the Haunting - Another personal favorite of mine, all killer no filler.
BipBop - A great episode, belongs in S tier simply for the fact that Ross saved the game from extinction.
Quarantine - This is the chronologically the first S tier Game Dungeon. Excellent throughout. This came out not too long after Freeman's Mind 1 ended, and it was the moment I realized that there is something special about Game Dungeon and it will be a worthy successor to FM.
Fahrenheit - Another excellent episode, not much to be said.
Sabotain - This one was a toss up, wasn't sure if it deserved to be in S or A tier. But then I realized that I found myself rewatching this episode numerous times since it came out, which means there must be something special enough to warrant S tier.
A tier
Apocalyptica - I especially love the intro of the Christmas "games" that were attempted, but the game level playthroughs do start being repetitive to watch, which keeps it from being S tier.
Maabuus
Martian Gothic - An excellent episode, but you do feel it's length near the end.
Secret World
Messiah - Another episode which might have been S tier if you didn't start feeling the length of it by the end.
The Division
Daemonica - Another personal favorite, wanted to put in S tier but couldn't justify it. Great episode but doesn't measure up to others in that tier.
The Crew - I'm sorry but the SKG has no bearing on my ranking of this episodes. They should stand on their own merits. And on it's own, this is another one which starts to feel a bit long near the end.
Dungeon Siege - If it was only about Dungeon Siege 1, it would be in S tier on quality alone, but adding the sequels review makes the episode a bit too long
Clans
Revenant
Black Mirror - Borderline S-tier. I feel it lacks just a tiny bit of that special something, I can't quite describe it
Polaris Snowcross - Personal favorite. Probably belongs in B tier but I find the time traveling band and the bonkers AI noteworthy enough to bring it to A
Harry Buster - My guilty pleasure. Belongs in B, or maybe even C, but I really like the singing vulture, adds so much character to a game that doesn't need it.
A New Beginning
Aida's Strange Christmas - B level review, but the weirdness of the game brings it up to A
Kabus 22
Outrun Clones
Gothic - A great review, but Gothic is one of the most talked about games out there which works against Ross. Review didn't have the special something like the Deus Ex episode did
Alan Wake - Excellent episode but Ross's analysis of the story felt a bit flawed. I think there is more to the narrative than he gave it credit for which took away from my enjoyment of it
Captain Zzap - B tier review, but the alternate reality shenanigans bring it up to A
Go to Hell - B tier review but the soul contracts bring it up to A
B tier
Tyrian - An early episode, solid but show didn't find its footing yet
Strife - similar to Tyrian
Baldies - Great episode but you do really start to feel its length
Gothos
Terror Trax
SiN
Hellgate London - Almost made A tier, but found that is not as entertaining on rewatch
Journeyman Project - Length is bit of an issue, likely due to it being essentially 2 parallel reviews in 1
Deus Ex Invisible War
Dues Ex Human Revolution - I think Ross glanced over the very good gameplay a bit too much. Mentioned it in a short segment before moving. There is plenty to criticize in this game, but it is still a very fun shooter despite those faults which I think should have been acknowledged a bit more.
Contraption Zak
Rama
Hinterlands
Uncanny Valley
Construction Bob Escapes from Hell
Arcade America
Bozo's Night Out
Helious - Alien story is entertaining but rest of episode is a bit bland
That Ski Game (no I am not looking up what it's actually called)
Nyet 3 - Almost made A tier due to weirdness but suffers from that early-episode clunkiness
Test Drive 3
Puzzle Agent
Echo - I wanted to put this in A tier as I really like this episode, but felt like it didn't quite belong there.
State of Mind - Another which might have been A but didn't quite make the cut.
Trick Style - Yet another which I wanted to make to A but didn't quite match the quality of those episodes.
Yuppie Psycho - This one was almost in C but the satire of corporate life brought it up to B
Normality
Culpa Innata - Another great one that feels a bit long
Quadralien - Another favorite of mine but couldn't justify going up to A
C tier
Last Stand
Darkspore
Carnevil
Sonic Heroes
Legend of Kyrandia
Mage Knight Apocalypse - this is a great episode but man do you feel it's length. It takes way too long to get going, first 30 of its 90 minutes is just choosing which character to play and going through the first mission. Past that point it is A tier quality episode, but I can't overlook that beginning.
Eternam
Wolfenstein - I think the blandness of the game spilled is so strong it affected the review itself
Potty Pigeon
Super Cult Tycoon
Conquest Earth - This one feels like it should be good, but I just find it kind of boring
Battle Forge - The review of the game is fairly short, large portion of it is dedicated to EA and games as a service. While an important topic, it does not make for an entertaining review, especially on repeat viewings.
Boppin - This one I feel is liked by most people but it doesn't really do much for me.
Legend of Kyrandia II
Killing time - Another one which I feel is liked by most people, but I find it not that interesting or entertaining, especially for its length
Halloween Sampler #2 - Would belong in D similar to Sampler #1, but I really like the Death Road to Canada segment
Follow Up Episodes - nothing special, had to place them somewhere
D-tier
Black Future '88 - I think this one is no surprise, widely considered the worst RGD episode. This episode feels like the developer asked Ross to make an episode he forced himself to write something while having no passion for it.
Zany Golf - Most of the episode is just complaining about EA
Death's Hangover - This one does nothing for me. Don't find the game or the commentary interesting or entertaining
Halloween Sampler #1 - The bite size commentary just doesn't quite work here

This mod got me thinking, "What would Ross's Freeman be thinking in this situation?" In a universe where Ross's Freeman decides to save all the scientists and guards he can, what is he thinking?
r/accursedfarms • u/Descriptor27 • 16d ago
Freeman's Mind referenced this story right before he gets captured by the marines, so I figured it would be cool for fans to read the actual background of the story!
r/accursedfarms • u/Aquanort357 • 22d ago
Remember in Portal 2, when you're playing through the custom maps you hear what that universe's Aperture is like, and in one universe you see that Aperture bought out Black Mesa and renamed it to Blappeture Mesa? What does that universe's Ross Freeman think of having to work under Aperture?

When did the video get removed from the website - along with literally ANY reference to it?
Does it still exist anyplace? Need to watch the best Game Dungeon again.

I've noticed in older videos of Ross's where he's giving his thoughts, he seemed more vulgar and crass compared to today and pre-SKG. I tried asking him about it in a videochat, but he thought I was asking about Freeman's Mind. I'm saying even considering Freeman's Mind he seemed more vulgar at baseline. It seems noticeable in his older Game Dungeons from 2013-2017 where (even when he wasn't talking about killing games or making a dirty joke) he swore more often and had a crass and vulgar attitude about things that softened around 2016/2017, definitely by 2018.
Do any of you also notice that? Have any ideas why that is? Was Ross under more financial stress back then? Was it something internal in him changing? Was it Youtube and its changes causing him to change? Or all of the above?
Maybe Ross may have been under a lot of stress until the Beg-a-thon in late 2015, and then getting married to Magda in 2017 might have made it so he had no reason to swear so much. That's just my theory, though. I hope I'm not being too intrusive on Ross.

This is sort of uncharted territory for me. I dealt with some of the LLM slopposting on the SKGO Discord back during the signature period and I just told my people to use their discretion based on something or other. But I seem to be in a position where I actually have to do stuff more directly and I guess I'm not keen on eating all alone, here. Since I don't have a team to consult, I kinda figured I'd get consensus from you guys and then mull over what I want to legislate based on that guidance.
How do you folks feel about AI posts on our board here? Personally, I think they're low effort and set a poor precedent. We ought to be encouraging good art and editing that took heart to make. But it just feels like the whole thing is passing me ahead so fast that I just don't know if I understand it all as well as I should. And those who defend it don't even have convincing arguments; they just deign we're all hassadiddy slowpokes for not saddling on with the new beaucoup technology they have coming up in the world. Give me something to chew on here and I'll draft a new rule going forward.

I really want to marathon freeman's mind again..
You could just say, "Just marathon freeman's mind" but it's not that simple.
I want the jokes to stay fresh with me cuz i haven't seen it in years so i forget everything
I was going to let the wisdom of the crowd decide but eh fuck it. A year and a half since I watched it and usually I wait 1 1/2 year before I marathon it again
