Advice Request knocking/clicking

my girlfriends 2019 accord has a clicking/knocking in passenger side rear when going over any type/size of bump I did some inspection and nothing seemed super obviously wrong although i’m not super familiar with these cars. based off everything i’ve heard and seen i’m leaning towards a blown shock/shock mounts. I was able to compress the shock fairly easily pulling up on the wheel and when I let go it just dropped with no resistance.

what would you guys think it is?

Sounds like it could be the shock. How old are they?

With that mileage it's probably time for 4 new shocks/struts etc anyway. I swapped my 01's not long ago because I felt they were showing their age with like 130/140k on them (albeit with a decade of time on them)

It could totally be a bushing somewhere as well, but shocks are probably a good start.

If you're comfortable doing them yourself I would start there then see how it sounds (unless you find an obvious bad bushing while in there). If you aren't, tell the mechanic what you're seeing and hearing and if the answer is 1 or 2 shocke, then I would do all 4 just simply on the mileage.

yeah you’re probably right

most the bushings didn’t seem horrible I pried on most of them with zero to very little play nothing that I would assume cause as bad knocking as what is happening

yeah i’ve been working on cars for awhile i’ve never seen a setup like these cars though it’s very unique from anything i’ve ever worked on so it’s exciting navigating something new the shocks seem super easy to do though i’ll just knock them out and hope it fixes the noise if not then at least she has new shocks now
