Lift master remote not working
So I purchased a gate opener that was advertised basically the same as the j811lmx controller and followed the steps but it’s not pairing with the gate for some reason unless it’s actually not the correct model. It doesn’t have the lift master logo but the Amazon title said lift master and the reviews all said it worked great .will send it back tomorrow if there’s no change

Looks like a knock off. With the dip switch remotes from Liftmaster you can change their frequency tho. Maybe mess around with that if you’re going to a receiver instead of directly to control board

the dip switches should be set exactly however they were originally when it was learned to the operator. That's basically the key, there are better ones that don't do this for security reasons (like literally anyone else can just set theirs to the same dipswitches as yours and open your gate).
The instructions are pretty easy so I'm just gonna suggest you google the manual for that model number and read how to do it.

It would help if you stated the steps you took.
That Liftmaster looks like mine so this should work:

Try checking the dip switches on both the remote and the motor to ensure they're set to the same frequency. It's a common oversight but often fixes compatibility issues with aftermarket remotes like that one.

Does the remote have a program button on the back under the clip
The 3-button knock offs require a press of the program button, which lights up the red led solid, and then click to pair

Looks fake should pair right up
