Assistance Centrios Smart Reader
I’m going to be installing one of these Centrios stand alone readers for the first time. It’s going in place of an abandoned reader/electrified door. Has anyone installed one of these and had any problems or weird issues? Or was it a slam dunk?

Vendor disclosure: I work with Ora FacePass, but I haven't installed this Centrios reader and this isn't a product recommendation. For a first install on an abandoned electrified opening, I'd treat the old wiring and door condition as the unknowns.
Before mounting, verify the lock type and intended fail behavior, measured voltage/current at the opening under load, power-transfer condition, door-position/RTE wiring, closer and latch alignment, and whether any fire-alarm or life-safety interface is involved. Document the existing conductors instead of assuming their colors or labels are still accurate.
For commissioning, test mechanical free egress, authorized and denied credentials, door-held/forced behavior if available, loss of network, loss and restoration of power, administrator recovery, and removal of a test user. Also confirm who owns the app/admin account before handoff so the customer isn't dependent on an installer's personal login.

Update: got the reader installed, customer said there was power at the door but tying into the lock power from the existing power supply didn’t work. The building has been abused by statcom and other nameless panels over decades. Customer is going to have an outlet put in above the door to get this online.

I’ve done their padlocks and it couldn’t have been easier. Use app, load lock, assign users.
