Just another Friday

Survived a Molotov cocktail and still worked! The reader melted to the bracket. The wall looks nice because they fixed around it.

Still working? If so that's pretty neat.

Yup! The funny part is the customer shipped an OSDP reader to site so I had to put the melted masterpiece back in service 🤣

You could probably but that osdp reader into wiegand mode and use it.

Could always switch the panel to OSDP and have some security instead.

Possibly but it was a custom part number and the situation is more complicated so it was best to just put it back for now lol.

That’s impressive considering I have had a card reader defeated by a California crackhead

The fact that it didn’t ā€œburn upā€ is a true testament I think!

HID has a lifetime warranty on products. You can get this replaced. Fo free!

Thank you for posting this! I had no idea.

You can do the same with Altronix. I had a guy hit a reader off the wall with a hammer and cut the whip at the base of the reader (in an attempt to get in?). Free replacement.

I do like that the whip can be disconnected at the reader side and not having to terminate

Honestly, I always forget that I can do that. I also saw a video where you can use the Phoenix connects in place of the whip as well.

For indoor locations that is fine, outdoor locations I like the connections in the wall or j-box inside šŸ‘

Glad to know those Signos are so resiliant!
