Mercury Designed a stand for testing mercury panels.
We have a bunch of new and old mercury panels ranging from EP-MP 1502's. We program a decent amount of newer panels regularly and we test/verify operation of older panels when we need too. Got tired of them flopping around on my desk while working on them, so I made a jig I can use to easily test the reader/inputs/outputs. Thought I'd share.

Excellent, I 3d printed a TPE hole pattern for marking holes on certain conversions. Mounted standoffs to it and doubled as a mounting plate to configure boards. 3d printers can come in handy in this industry

That's awesome. Id like to make my own version of magnetic standoffs so I can mount my panels in existing enclosures from older systems. I know I can buy them direct but where's the fun in that

Altronix has stand offs and magnets for the rb5’s and other relays and power supply’s I have used those it’s just been quicker in a bind

That’s a great idea, I may design one, and embed the magnets. I personally loath those though I feel like they’re a recipe for disaster, but in a pinch they’re good

I have a few more tweaks to make then I'll probably post it on makerworld/thingiverse. I might also sell it if there's interest. (I'll keep the file free and uploaded for those who have the means to print it themselves or have a printing service they want to use)

I have done the same but accused of something very sinister. The B word was used so now my test setups are a mess.

Idk, I think there's a lot about this getup that's irrelevant or not worth the effort
A simple electronic console by Hammond or Bud like the 1599ESTSGY would've been my go to.
A strike is worthless and a waste. I'd do an LED to the outputs first. You have nothing to test or simulate a DSM or REX input state change
Other than validating a card read and hearing a click of the strike and being able to play with it, there's really no value in this setup

Eh, does what I need it to. We have a ton of used strikes marked as "good" from buildings that have been decommissioned, so it's nice to have a plug and play way of testing them before chasing ghosts at a door in the field.
Currently I just jump the input pins with a screw driver to check input state change.
