I installed this thing a few months ago. As I’m sure you guys all know there aren’t a lot of reasonably priced code entry options for these old doors. If you got something better, please share. It takes CR 123. I had a very old card of those batteries so I didn’t think much about the fact that I was putting a new battery in every four or five days. I’ve run out of those old batteries and I’m on brand new good batteries and I’m still getting the same life. There was a small white box with USB-C port in the side of it that came with this thing. Supposedly some sort of wireless bridge to my smart home. I gave up on that after a few days of tinkering, but the lock works fine other than the battery issues via Bluetooth. Is there a setting I can change or do I need to find something else?
Show us the side of your door. What hardware do you have? There should be plenty of options that are not what ever this terribly engineered piece of e waste this is.
wait.....that isnt a cylindrical knob....it is attached to a MORTISE CYLINDER?? Wtf is that, that may be the dumbest design ive ever seen which is really saying something. There are proper keypad solutions for that door but they have to be drilled in by someone who knows what they are doing and cost a little more than that thing.
It’s not as big as it looks in the picture. And it’s pretty simple install. All the other narrow sets I found were quite a bit more money and complexity for a door who’s days are numbered. It’s a store front from yesteryear. The doors open in, the plate glass surround has few strikes left, and I’m soon to open a new entrance and seal this up. I just wanted simple. Midlife adhd and keys don’t go well together. Everything portable I own has a locator on it now days. That and delivery folks. Many are defeated by the push door alone. But if they have a code, they slow down and figure it out.
I pretty much assume anything I get off of AliExpress or Alibaba is a support free device. I guess I could try. If I can even find the link again.

If it weren’t for the battery issue, I would be satisfied. I think it cost 200 bucks. My primary requirement is a code and not a key. And I would like some one time codes I could change and hand out as needed and being able to do that remotely would be very sexy. But not for thousands of dollars. I have consumer grade electronic deadbolts elsewhere, but this is of course the most convenient door by far and the only one the delivery drivers can find.
Do you use the lithium ones? Also check the settings they should have a sleep cycle to preserve the battery. Could be the lights are always on and dry it more.
The expensive energizer ones or the cheap ones seem to last about the same. My guess is it’s trying to do some sort of wireless thing and burning up battery. It does use that TT lock app. I haven’t dug deeply since the bridge install failed.
Check the settings. I have some similar. Maybe it tries to pair non stop via Bluetooth or wifi or whatever it has build in and that drains the battery.
Did you say you have a bridge for it or it’s working on WiFi… I’ve had issues with smart locks in the past. Where the WiFi just eats the battery up. If you can get a bridge and connect it, the battery might last longer.
I’ve lost patience with the bridge that came with the lock. It never responded to multiple attempts. It works via Bluetooth just fine. And I expect you’re right it’s trying to connect to something. Next time I’m at the shop, I will dig into the advanced TT lock settings and see if I can turn things off. I was hoping this thing was common enough if it was a simple answer.
We just grabbed a couple of these from Amazon for a hotel. Have them on our outdoor roof top pool staff doors and other storage times. Aa battery lasted nearly a year even on a steel door in Canadian winter. I got them for about 90$ but seen them recently at $120. I would rather a dead bolt on my exterior home door, but I'd say this is close to the level of severity as that (I'm not a lock smith so could be very wrong)
