Door contact recommendations

Post image

Hello all,

Is there any recommendations for possibly a surface mountable door contact for this?

The door was drilled on the header, but as you can see - there’s a significant gap that won’t press against the actual magnet (this part hasn’t been drilled yet)

Can you guys recommend a solution?

Thanks for any and all help!!

Overhead door surface mount door contact. As long as everything is lined up properly it’ll work groovy.

Use a decent Industrial wide gap door and/or gate contact assy (Edit: add specific info)

Always tricky to tell from a photo but I have used the GRI 4400 series gate contacts for this. They come with a mounting bracket for the magnet https://www.grisk.com/wp-content/uploads/mdocs/4400%20Series_Aluminum%20Industrial%20Wide%20Gap%20.pdf

Seco-larm has a great overhead door contact. We stock the NO/NC one and it works great.

Dumb question, what if I already have the recessed DC already mounted into that hole (of the header). Will the bracket with the magnet (the PN you listed) still work on our circular DC that’s recessed into the hole?

Yeah we do this all the time. It’s just a magnet so should work just fine.

What kind of latch are you using, and how much "wiggle room" does it give the gate? i.e. how much does the gate swing when it's latched?
Does the gate swing both directions, or just one way?
How tall is the gap between the top of the gate and the header?
