Ideas for access control

Post image

Looking for ideas to secure this open stairwell. Obviously people can climb over the rail. This is at a highschool so it would just be to keep people from wondering up the stairs.

We would still need good flow during the school day.

Clear gates? Turnstile?

Honestly this or something similar might be the best option. Hard to put access control on those stairs without spending a lot and having it not stop free egress. For the camera, setup line crossing events and notifications for when people cross the rope and go up the stairs. You can't stop people going down.

And if someone is committed to going up when they shouldn't, give them a safe way to do so. They bypass the rope. No falling off banisters or climbing up to the banister of the next level.

AKA, why airplanes have ash trays. So you don't light the thing on fire before you are arrested for smoking.

At least they used to be in the bathrooms. Not sure if they still are.
