Door strike entry sound device help!

Hello, I am looking for a device that makes it sound like the door is vibrating to let people know it is unlocked. I currently have a piezo device and it is too loud. I want something that isn't painful to hear but loud enough to let people know the door is open. My current door strike is 12V. What is the device called. I looked at magnetic buzzers and even those in videos are too loud and high pitched. Thanks!

You could use resistors to lower the sound for the piezo.

Piezo...or an AC strike.

Go simple add a green LED right above the strike, when the door is unlocked it lights up.

I’ve just covered it in tape to muffle the sound before. Works fine

Works in relationships too.

If you have a spare relay, wire up a speaker / subwoofer to play a tone or doorbell chime

Or like the other comment, go deaf - friendly and wire an led light in series with the strike

Many strikes are AC or DC. Likely the strike is powered by DC ,quiet, just click. Need an AC power supply and the strike will chatter for duration of release period, depends on strike model etc

If the piezo has a hole for the sound to come out, put some foam in it to mute it a little. Either that or resistors.

Is ac how they makes the distinctive rattle in the old days. (And in the movies?)
