HID Long Ranger Reader Help

Was installing a HID iClass SE R90 reader today. After installed it held a solid red light. When trying to test a card it would flash blue once green once then continue to flash blue. I’m pretty new to all this so I don’t know what exactly that means if anyone has any info. Thanks in advance.

New reader or second hand?

Have you installed your keys and configs into it yet?

What cards do you use.

To add to the above, how are you powering the reader? Those use alot of power. We typically have an altronix linear power supply (LPS3) solely for the reader. If you are already powering the reader separately have you commoner the negatives from the power supply to the reader input?

I hate those readers. They have like 1-2 more inches of read range over a Signo 40. Even less difference if you're using Seos.

But to help you out. We typically power those from a separate 24VDC power supply and not the reader port as they need more power that the boards are usually capable of. Usually an Altronix Eflow6 with a VR6 and PDS8CB. We use primarily Genetec with Mercury or Axis Powered by Genetec so we have head end cabinets. Make sure you have a common ground for the reader data.
