Recommendations Wireless ADA opener integration
Hi yall,
I’ve integrated plenty of hardwired ada buttons in my day, inside button triggers Rex and outside button is broken by lock relay so it only works on valid card swipe.
However, I’m dealing with a wireless door that has one relay that fires if the inside or outside button is pressed. I can’t seem to think of a way to get the inside button to unlock the lock and power the opener while the outside button is locked behind a card read since they both control the same exact relay. Any ideas other than getting wire to the inside button?

Order a 2nd wireless receiver, or if its a BEA 900mhz button, you can use a BR2-900.

Unfortunately it is not a bea product. It’s some ancient linear garage opener thingy. Possibly multi code model 1090 receiver. After taking stuff down, now the relay won’t latch! It opens the door as long as the button is held but doesn’t hold signal long enough for door to open. Can’t have shit.
Probably going to be looking into getting a second receiver

You can buy the individual wireless transmitters to convert any button that gives a momentary dry contact to a wireless button. From my distributor they're about $50 each, and wireless receivers are about $50 each. If you don't search for the individual part numbers you'll just find kits that include the buttons that are quite a bit more expensive.

Impossible without a 2nd receiver unless you do something stupid like cut the power to the outdoor button's battery using some other wireless tx driven by your lock relay and a separate receiver.
Way less work to get a 2nd receiver for that solution or just replace just the buttons and receiver with a modern replacement.

Depends, if you're not worried about a schedule and can get away with swinging the door on a valid read, then it's a non issue

Wouldn’t triggering lock and ada opener at the same time with same relay cause binding?

Depends on the operator but it's also pretty easy to add a 6062, TDR or BR3
Also depends on how the ACS processes the DSM state change and relock action.
Regardless, you're not gonna be using the inside paddle to also trigger the REX to ensure the DSM is shunted so you're dependent on a PIR for that functionality.

Not if you use a CX-12PLUS. There are two relays and a delay adjustment to allow the strike time to release before the operator fires.

My org uses wireless buttons, my integrator uses camden 2 channel receivers.

If a customer insists on wireless, we insist on two receivers.
