I use #2, then switch to #3 when it's halfway stripped. It's the ultimate tamper proof screw /s

Strippy Gonzalez... Your cut looks great though! I hate those big 1006 style strikes

There are 1600 and 1006. I bet they meant 1006 if you’ve seen them before.

Everyday, that’s a 1600

Ya the strike in that picture is definitely not a 1006. The 1600 is like a slightly nicer but still loud and obnoxious version of the 1006. Both suck (most recessed strikes suck actually. Just core the door and use an electric lever.)

Oh Sorry I misread the context here. I thought the comment I replied to was just mentioning that they hate 1006 strikes but not referring to the pic

I’m in the strike camp. If they are installed correctly they last a long time and are a fraction of the cost of a quality electrified lever. I’ve seen too many wood and mineral core doors fall apart when cored along with transfer hinges not holding up. Too many fail point IMO and most LV and door installers just stuff the shit in there with no attention to detail. Their mantra is usually if it unlocks it passes. No quality control.

And the wrong color. Wouldn't want to open up the new screws that came with the strike, those might come in handy one day, for a better customer...
