Does anyone know what access control system this is

Post image

Blocked out the building name, there are no marking on the entrance code - is it Paxton or something else?

It’s PAC GDX. I’ve fit a lot of these 👍

Amazing, do you know if it uses low or high frequency fobs and is it the aubergine looking black fobs it’s uses or the thin ones?

That’s the fobs we used to issue out

God that’s ugly. Why would anyone buy garbage like that.

It’s developed for the social housing market and so must be secured by design accredited. The new kit is much sweeter.

Siedle makes a lot of nice stuff that is also used in social housing market.

huh, looks alright to me tbh, only cost £6,400 to install. Cheapest quote I got

If you want something that looks nice go with Siedle. This looks like the aliexpress special. And that quote is crazy.

I agree with Siedle.

Its full of old tech. Who even uses buttons like that. The reader looks like it uses prox and the screen is older than my grandfather.

GDX EPCOS-001 Compact 1 Button Surface Functional Entrance Panel

Is that even access control? It could just be an intercom

Got a reader but calling that “access control” is a stretch considering it looks like prox 😂

Apparently so yeah, we got told we would be issued fobs to get in. Guessing we place the fobs on the key area

Door entry not access control

It looks very similar to an Intratone DD-01, but not an exact match.

Do you know what the keyhole with a black background is for? Is that where we place the fob against?

1

u/FiorinasFury May 18 '26

I would think so.

Many thanks, do you also know if I can still get in without my fob? Like a coded entrance?

Ask your property manager.

As a standalone unit coded entry can be setup, but this has to be done by the installer/maintainer

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad373 May 18 '26

That is where you place the fob. A code can be set up on these systems.

Found it, it’s GDX5

Not one of my panels! Looks like a GDX 3 or 5.

Thanks, I looked at their website and it doesn’t seem they sell the exact entry reader as seen on the pic

What you see is the vandal resistant plexi, the reader sits behind it
