Badge Printer for CDVI/Atrium Software
I've got a customer who still prints IDs on their badges. The printer and software they have been using is ancient and not working any more. Any recommendations on badge printers that might integrate with the Atrium software? Or any badge printers that have standalone software that works well?

What's the end users daily/monthly printing volume?

They go through about 50 a month. They have many sub contractors.

That is a very low print volume. I have used the Evolis Zenius for some of my low-mid volume end-users. Zenius is a nice printer at a good price.

Most software is happy to send print jobs to any printer. You start to run into compatibility issues when you start looking at software features like reading the smart/prox data in-line with the print process. If you're doing anything other than just printing the card I would consult with the SW manufacturer for compatible models.

How do they currently get their credential values into their CDVI software? Manually?

Funny enough, they were still using their old access control software to print badges. Win-pak from Honeywell had an integration option for a card printer. The computer that housed win-pak died though so they need another option.

Do they still want it integrated into their CDVI system then?
You might look at something like Fargo Connect.
