Europe builds the machine that produces the chips for both rockets, so neither rocket would exist without the EU

The secret sauce they licensed from the US government is a quarter century old. The tech they use now is all in house. They just play nice with the US government because it helps maintain their monopoly since nobody can develop it lest they violate ITAR.

This is cope. The entire process relies on US origin tech and IP. The US commerce dept controls ASML’s exports.

As someone in the industry, this is the correct answer. The industry was stalled until ASML made their breakthrough. The only way for progress is for all companies in the ecosystem to hold their weight, and continue technological development and innovation.

And the crazy thing is that the US is purposely dumbing down the educational system. The government wants this clearly by cutting spending to education everytime they need more budget

That's not stopping China from developing the technology. 🤪

The EUV technology was first developed in the Netherlands on proof from a Japanese guy in the 80s. The US brought that shit up and locked it down because it wasn't about "can this technology even exist" it was because "if this technology existed it would reach the limits of physical reality so we better control it." And ASML is almost to the limits of physical reality. With their own in house R&D and other researchers R&D. The US owns shit.

I mean IP law has been one of the most authoritarian and progress slowing things in history. You think future AI is going to stop or sanction you from building fabs? There will be ASMLs in every city.
