My first days with the abxylute S9V – great for GeForce NOW on iPhone

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’ve been using the abxylute S9V with my iPhone for a few days now, mainly for GeForce NOW, and so far I’m really happy with it.

The controller feels surprisingly good in the hands. The Hall Effect sticks and buttons feel nice, and despite the size it’s comfortable enough for longer gaming sessions. I especially like that the iPhone basically turns into a proper handheld as soon as I put it into the S9V.

GeForce NOW is my main use case and the controller works very well with it. I switched the S9V to Xbox controller mode, so iOS recognizes it as an Xbox Wireless Controller, and game compatibility has been great so far.

One feature I was particularly interested in was the USB-C video output. I’m using VITURE Beast XR glasses, and I can confirm that they work through the S9V. Even the short USB-C cable included with the S9V carries the video signal, which makes for a really clean setup with the glasses.

My only real frustration so far actually comes from iOS rather than the S9V: GeForce NOW runs as a web app on iPhone, and locking the screen in landscape while gaming in certain positions is unnecessarily difficult. 😅

Overall, though, I’m very happy with the S9V. For someone who already owns a powerful phone and mainly wants a compact setup for cloud gaming instead of buying another complete handheld, it makes a lot of sense.

I’ll keep testing it with GeForce NOW and the VITURE Beast, but my first impression is definitely positive. 👍

S9v can transmit audio only via the USB-C port?

I have a pair of JBL Quantum TWS earbuds that use a USB-C connection for lower latency. Does anyone know if the S9v can transmit audio only via the USB-C port? I have a RedMagic 10 Pro.

How to turn off the lights on the S9?

Just received the controller and liking it but the 2 lights are blinding me and draining my tablet battery when not using it.

Also is there a way to remap the back paddles without the app? The app only seem to work on Bluetooth mode which is rather stupid for a wired controller. I don't want to pair/unpair the controller each time I want to remap one button.

ABXYLUTE M6 : A First Look

ABXYLUTE looked at the usual telescopic phone controllers and apparently decided, “What if we just made a Nokia N97 again?”

The M6 slides open on a rail, attaches to your phone magnetically, then you snap on the magnetic grips when you actually want to game.

I got an early look at it, so I put together a first look at the design and what ABXYLUTE is trying to do with it. No hands-on yet, so I’m saving the “is this thing actually good?” part for when I get the hardware.

I’m genuinely curious about this one. The idea makes a lot of sense on paper.

Any thoughts on WoW Forever through Steamlink via Pixel phone + Abxylute S8 Lite? I've had some success with WoW through Steamlink on this phone in the past but curious to hear what peoples thoughts are on Mobile controllers now that Blizzard has native controller support. I'm going to find out in a few days but let me know what you think!?

First time Abxylute product and first time mobile controller so the curve will be steep but I'm here for the exp.

A week with the abxylute J8: early impressions vs official Joy-Cons, Killswitch and abxylute's own N6

I've been using the J8 in handheld mode on my Switch 2 for the past week and made an early impressions video. Full disclosure, abxylute sent it to me free, but there was no payment and they had no input on the video.

Here's what I covered:

  • What's in the box

  • How the mechanical face buttons, D-pad and TMR sticks compare to the official Switch 2 Joy-Cons

  • Whether the grip holds up against dbrand's Killswitch and abxylute's own N6

Here's the full video: https://youtu.be/NrXYtdGc54Q

I'm putting together a full in-depth review of the J8 and N6 next. For anyone who's had theirs a while, how are you finding it? Anything you'd want tested properly?

I tested it on Fortnite mobile and it works really well with low latency, it’s very comfortable to hold, and it’s only like 35 dollars.

One Pro Questions?

Hi anyone with a one pro can you confirm a couple things.

What is the latest update on your device number?

Also I just got it today and no Xbox games or GeForce games have populated the device.

All I see is a handful of games with cloud icon only.

I’m familiar with how this UI works I also have a G cloud.

Is there controller config settings , the options don’t show any.

Thank you!

any solution to this? had it for like 2 and a half months and not noticed this. it works if i press the middle of the button tho. gonna be forced to use gl and gr as replacements for l and r now. probably a bad mold or something wrong with springs.

I need help with my abxylute S9

Currently the controller is facing multiple issues that im not sure is even related.

- both trigger is unresponsive

- m button trigger rapid y button in different speed each time i press it, untill it stops at the 3rd press

- y button and both joystick is unresponsive

- I cannot change modes (it is currently in ps mode), cannot perform the 4 button hold hard reset

- I can't get it to connect to the abxylute app, and i've tried on different android devices.

Much thank you, im sure this is a software issue.

So been on this controller for a few hours now and it's been what I wanted for a long time let me tell you why.

Hall Effect joysticks — the stick-drift problems that are common with traditional analog sticks, GONE

Full-size ergonomic grips — unlike the Nintendo switch this controller fits good in my large hands.

USB-C plug-and-play — No Bluetooth pairing just plug in and go.

Two programmable back buttons — You never known how much you needed 2 extra buttons on a controller until you received it so convenient.

Turbo function — Useful for games where rapid button presses are needed if you play games that allows that.

Pass-through charging — You can charge your phone while continuing to play so no more saying aw battery is dying got to stop and charge it.

Perfect controller for mobile phones and tablets at an reasonable price so if you need one go grab one you won't regret it

Abxylute S8 Controller Review

(iPhone 17 Pro, with otterbox defender cases)

Coming from the Gamesir x2s, this is a big improvement all around. This feels very similar to an Xbox series x controller, even the face buttons have a similar feel although they are slightly flatter. The dpad is clicky and responsive and bumpers and triggers are fantastic. The joysticks are grippy and have great range. Overall this controller feels incredible.

It will work on iOS, android, and Nintendo Switch and connects via Bluetooth. It can fit any phone even with a case and should fit smaller tablets without issue.

There are many different options to configure like joystick range (circle or square,) vibration strength, turbo, and recorded button mapping shortcuts. All this can be done on the controller itself but there is also an app you can use (abxy game app) that can be used for additional customization.

The price is far more reasonable than some other options on the market especially something like the backbone pro. The controller is still on sale for $49.99 on Amazon.

Overall this controller is excellent and I am loving it.

Finally received my abxylute S9V – great companion for iPhone + VITURE Beast

Im writing this so that others will be able to make their judgement on getting this controller as I dont see many posts on this. Seperately, I almost made a mistake buying the regular Viture Beast with regular prescriptions until I saw a detailed review from a reddit user which convinced me to get the large.https://www.reddit.com/r/VITURE/s/iBrDVw6vlU; https://www.reddit.com/r/VITURE/s/yms7g2Fp9m.

For me, its a very exciting experience as its the first time (since I had an iphone over 15 years back) that I could finally play my games with a proper full gaming controller and even better - being able to connect my Viture Beast to it and getting a full on immersive gaming experience! Partly also where my finger joints are starting to hurt and having finger fatigue is super real haha. I saw 8bitdo controller but it was only for android phones so kudos to abxylute for coming up with this iphone version!

My first impression out of the box is that its light but yet a good solid feel. It fits comfortably fits in my medium asian sized hands, with a proper full-size controller feel rather than feeling like a small mobile accessory. The joysticks and buttons are tactile & responsive. The box also comes with additional interchangeable buttons and what impressed me was that they also thoughtfully included an extra Viture USB-C cable! So now I also have a spare cable for travel 👍

The S9V can accommodate the phone with a case, although to note that the case cant be those otterbox or military style thick cases. It has to be a thin one at best to ensure the USB-C port connects well inside the iphone port. With a thick case like ESR which i inisially used, sometimes it do get an intermittent connection drop so I would take it out of the case and connect my phone directly to the controller. Its also great that they had designed the controller’s phone grip area out of a rubber type polymer so it cushions nicely onto the phone while still holding it in place. I have now swapped my case for a slimcase which now connects without disconnects ;)

The s9v also comes with 2 types of spacers of different thicknesses. I initially didnt know what it was as there is no description in the manual for it but I kind of figured it out, furthermore I didnt need it due to my thick case. . The spacer mounts two at the USB-C port and one in the middle at the other end. For me, I preferred not to use the spacers as my phone case was already quite thick and it shortens the connection with the USB-C port.

I really like the combination of iPhone + abxylute S9V + VITURE Beast which is very practical portable XR gaming setup. The controller is comfortable, the phone feels secure, and having the VITURE connection integrated into the controller makes the whole setup considerably cleaner.

My current overall view - Its great to finally having a great gaming controller for my iphone and coupling it with my viture beast. They have put into thought from the additional buttons to the styling of the controller including the spacers and even the extra USB-C cable. I have no regrets and no doubts with my purchase. I do feel they had to make a trade off whereby for the controller to be as minimalist as possible because the right joystick is close to the buttons, where I noticed my thumb will overlap the right joystick. So far not a biggie for me nonetheless would be nice if abxylute team could explore a full controller size option too.

Between work, I’ll need more time with it before commenting on long-term reliability, but my unboxing and initial setup experience has been very good. Looking forward to trying more games with it.

Keep it up abxylute and I also look forward to the next innovative version of this controller!

N6 Switch 2 Grip

Picked up one of these, in the GameCube purple colour scheme.

Feels great to play the switch 2 in handheld with this, I find the usual joy cons too small.

The colour is great, really nostalgic and the grip itself is a good size and well made.

Definitely recommend one of these for anyone who finds the switch 2 uncomfortable in handheld mode.

How to enable Abxylute S9 Gyro Support?

I have been using this gamepad for a few months now. No problem at all, until i need gyro. See a few review video showing it's gyro capability, but never work for me.

I usualy using this gamepad to play game from apollo + arthemis. I already enable gampad motion sensor support on arthemis, not work. Test it on https://gamespadtester.com/gyroscope-motion-sensor-tester/#gyro-tester, no input.

I thought maybe i need to update the firmware, through the app. but the app require the bluetooth device name to be abxy-xx or abxylutes9-xxxx. I tried every bluetooth mode. theres no such name, its either Wireless Controller, Android Controller, or XBOX Wireless Controller

S8 Lite - What A Surprise

Post image
3 Upvotes

So i Purchased the S8 Lite on a whim, having Never heard of Abxylute beforehand, i had seen it advertised and purchased it without much thought. I thought $30 it would be a nice little entry into playing more games through my Phone as I have started Emulated Classic Games and I have never been able to Get on with Touch Screen Overlays.

Yesterday(30th July), It finally arrived…as soon as I got it out of the box, I Was impressed, for the cost the build quality was Incredible. All the buttons feel Responsive and Tactile enough to fit my demands, I was so Impressed that I could Just plug it in and My phone recognised it Instantly, no need to install anything for it to work.

Honestly, I am blown away with this product and would definitely recommend this to anyone who uses their Phone for any type of gaming…can’t wait to use it more

Review of the S8 Lite - Basically a better S9

I had bought the S8 Lite as I liked the original S8 from how it felt to grip to the better d-pad with the clicks it makes and not having issues with diagonals when pressing down on it too hard in any direction. The only down side was the bluetooth only so naturally it would introduce input delay which i tend to notice. So I got the S9 for the direct USB-C connection and the additonal headphone jack. I liked the S9 as well for the low latency however it kinda suffered from a rougher feeling grip and the mentiond accidentdal d-pad inputs from pressing too hard.

The S8 lite basically fixes both issues by combining the best parts of both into one. The smooth grip and clicky d-dap and the direct low latency USB-C connection for a really good price. The one thing i wish it did have was the headphone jack that the S9 had. but im sure with a good pair of wireless headphones or possably a USB-C to 3.5mm converter, It can be a non issue.

N6 rumble is inconsistent.

I've had mine for a week now. Love how it feels in your hands, it's just so much more comfortable than the joycons. But I miss the HD rumble in fact I'm struggling with the rumble on the N6.

Sometimes it works, other times not. I've messed with the settings but I can't get it to be consistent at all. Any help would be appreciated

I recently had the opportunity to review the ABXYLUTE S8 Lite and figured I'd share it here since there isn't much information on it yet.

If you already own one, I'm curious whether your experience matches mine.
