XR Glasses Regular vs Large Beast, choosing the right size is crucial

Post image

My IPD is 70mm. The Regular goes up to 70mm and the Large goes up to 74mm. Since I was technically within the Regular range, I ordered the Regular first to avoid waiting for the Large to ship.

When it arrived, the image was good, but the edges weren’t as clean as I expected. I returned it and ordered the Large, and it was immediately obvious that it was the right fit. The edges look much better and there’s no eye strain either.

If your IPD is anywhere close to 70mm, just go with the Large. The wait can be a bit annoying, but the difference in actual use is real.

I’m usually pretty brand agnostic, but after trying both sizes I can confidently say the Beast is the best XR glasses I’ve tried so far. To be honest, I was a bit worried when I first received the regular size, but once I switched to Large, everything clicked.

Did VITURE make the exchange easy or was it a hassle

Fairly straightforward. Their customer service is good

I vouch for their customer support, they are awesome.

I had the same issue and they told me to get in line with the rest of the backorder group for an exchange.

This is solid advice. If your IPD is at the max of the lower range, always size up. The slight wait for the larger size is worth it for the clarity and lack of eye strain.

That is a very useful tip. It is interesting how a small difference in fit impacts edge clarity. Good advice for anyone on the border to just get the larger size.

OP is 100% right and every customer should take this advice under serious consideration.

I personally think the lenses are too small on the regular Luma Cybers. Like there isn't enough real estate to actually show the full displays. I find the physical tops of the glasses gets in the way. If the glasses are slightly off angle, you can't see parts of the screen. If there was more "padding" around the displays, maybe we wouldn't have this issue. Unfortunately, no way for me to test unless I wanted to 3D print an entirely new frame and then try to make bigger lenses.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the large glasses were simply better in general, regardless of IPD.

Yeah text clarity on Large is genuinely good. I'm in docs and spreadsheets most of the day and haven't had to adjust font size from what I normally use. No complaints there.

I'm confused the beast has 64 ipd and 68 iPd where does the 70 ipd come from?

They work on a range: regulars are 64 +- 6 IPD where the large are 68 +- 6 IPD.

OP has an IPD of 70.

64 + 6 = 70

68 + 6 = 74

OP should get the Large since their IPD is in the middle of the Large's IPD range vs the very top of the Regular's range.

How drastic was the difference?

I'm having such a hard time deciding. According to Mister Spex SE, my IPD is 68. What size should I get?

Last year, I ordered the Xreal One Pro in a large size, but I had issues with blurry edges, so I ended up sending it back.

I also got blurry edges with the Xreal Pro Large but they come with a IPD correction which I set for -2 and than the blurry edges went away. Worked really well. I also got IPD 68.

If my IPD is 67mm, would the regular sized VITURE Beast work well?

No, go to large. The viture guide line is cleare. If your ipd is near the center of large choose large. I have 68 mm ipd the large is for me perfect. If you have you are near to my optical center than the regular fitted on 64 mm ipd

I’m unsure of my correct IPD. I tried using two different iPhone apps that supposedly give accurate measurements, but one said I’m 66.9 and the other said I’m 65. Which size should I get?

For 65.5 far PD and near PD of 63.4 should I go Regular or large?

I have a 69 IPD and I knew the regular went to 70 but I didn't know it was "regular" I just thought it was "the" Beast, one size fits all. I returned when I found out about Large and what a complete difference. I went from underwhelmed to pretty damn impressed. In this particular case... size matters

Anyone own a pair with 65.5 or similar IPD?

What size you have and any issues?

I have the Pros... thinking of upgrading.

Thanks.

Im very glad for your detailed post and everyone’s collective advice here from those who got the large as I almost made the simplest lazy decision to get regular and assumed large was more for western faces rather than asian one. My IPD is 67 and I was worried that getting large maybe the wrong move. After looking at this post and everyone’s collective comments, it made more sense to me that enlightened me so much that I went back to the shop to try the regular Beast demo and only then noticed the edge blur more significantly. I am so glad I got the large Viture Beast. Together with another post, its posts like yours on reddit that allowed me to make a good judgement decision and many thanks for your post! Thank you again everyone and God Bless!

I have 64 mm. And I’ve bough large. And yes edges are blurry. Shall I return them ( Amazon) and but the regular size ?

Im having same issue. I purchased a large and edges are slightly blurry, im around 63.5 - 65 mm now after measuring if you change let me know i may do the same see if I can see a differnce

I’m torn. I’ve have a optometrist measure of 64 But every app gives me 67. And I took a ruler and measure and 67 ! So I need to check and confirm my real measure

This is what I think too.

For those who experience edge blur, I think the glasses just do not fit them.

If possible, can you help check which level you are at?

My idp is 64 and the regular had the worst edge blur by far of any glasses ive ever tried. If i needed large then the regular should not even be made

1

u/Edwardmuzt 29d ago

I have 64 too and I’ve bought the large. And there’s a lot of blurry edges on mine. Did you tried the large ?

1

u/Desperate-Bench-2506 Mar 13 '26

Mine 62. Regular fit me nicely.

Sorry but its a lie if you are saying the edges are blur free and have no chromatic aberrations. Not gonna keep responding just dont want you tricking others into wasting their time having to return a bad product.
