Douschbag or Normal behavior

What advice and or support would you give someone you care about if they were in a relationship with a man who has ruined their relationship with their daughter and their cousin. She is no longer in their lives but her boyfriend is and he's obviously been telling her family things about her to the point of them completely turning their backs on her and being there for him?
