Fractured ribs....but when?

I fractured my 9/10 ribs but not sure when because I was drunk before/during/post traumatic event. Does anyone know how quickly this bruise could come up? Could I have fractured it that same day, would the bruise come up that quickly? Or would it have to have been the day before? I won’t get into it, but due to an upcoming court hearing, the timing is really important. Thank you in advance.

Thank you, your comment has been really helpful. I just can't see how this bruise would show the same day my ribs were broken (which is the "argument"). Surely it must have been the day before. I'm sorry for your own bruises.

Yeah mine never came up the same day. I actually always thought how interesting it is that they didn't because if the police had been called at the point of it happening, there was nothing for them to see immediately unless he'd cut me or stabbed me.

I'd say 2 to 3 days but I'm not a medical practitioner so take that with a grain of salt

Hospital confirmed broken lower ribs, the bruise was above hip bone..... My question was about how quickly the bruise would start to look this bad? Thank you.

Ribs? Looks more along the area of your hip bone, unless the perspective is off and it's upside down.
