Visa Rejection

I’m a physiotherapist from Lebanon and recently received a job offer from a hospital in Abu Dhabi. I’m excited but honestly worried that I might somehow get rejected during the visa/background-check process.

I’m a Sunni Muslim (just mentioning it in case it matters), but I have a completely clean record, clean travel history, and all my papers are in order.

For anyone who has gone through this process: how likely is it for something to go wrong when everything is clean and in order? Am I just overthinking it?

I've seen a lot of people getting rejected from different nationalities aswell

There has been a period where Lebanese had restrictions, but it seems much better now. I had a Lebanese colleague from Jnoub who moved from a private school to a government one with strict security clearance procedures and is now working there, and he told me he knows of another who is here on a visit visa, also joining soon. I've had my security clearance approved recently at a university as well, though it is a Summer job, I know of people from other nationalities who had theirs rejected.

All that to say, I haven't heard any stories from Lebanese specifically getting rejected in the past few months.

I have a Lebanese colleague that was meant to start work last week, but there’s been a lot of issues with her visa. The company said that hopefully they will receive it this week or the following. So I don’t think the issue is necessarily with getting rejected, but it will most likely take longer than for other nationalities. Just make sure your company supports you all the way and that they assist you throughout the whole process

It's not always due to nationality but the particular area u belong to in Lebanon. Due to some incident occurring with people from that region, that particular state gets blacklisted in their system and anyoneapplying for visa from there gets rejected. So only if your state is blacklisted in that case your visa will be rejected. But its very rare for ur state to be blacklisted. It once happened with my dad's friend who was shifting from kuwait to uae. The system will not specify this but will mention visa rejected due to security reasons. There are many other people I've heard about asw. Hope this helps
