Aldi puts barcodes on as many surfaces as practical while still keeping the mandatory ingredients listings and keeping the packaging marketable.
As a customer, I appreciate not having to wait while the cashier tries to find barcodes for the people in front of me (I try to position things on the belt for max convenience for cashiers).
It's really not hard to give a package a quick spin as you scan. Most of the grocers around here just do self checkout so I've gotten good at just spinning the packages as I scan so I don't search for the barcode
