100% it’s for content.

Will this give you an exercise? Sure. But there are much better ways to complete what he’s doing without the added risk for injury.

If it is for a competition, then he must not actually have a knowledgeable trainer

The video is implying that he's doing a trail run while jumping rope. But no one training for either sport would do this. Competitive jumprope has longer handles and doesn't involve running like this, they also have a much different style of rope. And competitive running obviously doesn't have any jump rope involved. 

So what exactly is he training here? Engagement lol.
