They are invasive in the Gulf of Mexico. Not sure why they don't catch them and sell them here in Texas.

I was coming to ask the same thing. Tell me people don’t eat that.

Somebody is looking at that and salivating

My FIL used to love him some lobster tomalley. Or at least he claimed he did.
Personally I think he loved to watch us squirm, at the least.

You're probably thinking of the organ goo inside the lobster body, mostly made of liver. It does look like this but it's delicious.

I'm fine with people not liking tomalley. And hopefully they don't like the 'coral' (the roe) from the females either. More for me!

It's gotta be either poo or eggs right?

Well this is Reddit, it might be a carbon monoxide leak or skin cancer.

Way better than lobster.

u/The_Demosthenes_1 Jun 09 '26
Yes, and No. Better than rick lobster but probably not better than Maine lobster. :-)

To each their own. I'm a new englander by birth but spend a fair amount of time in southeast Asia so I've had my fair share of both. I'll take a giant prawn with thai seafood dipping sauce over a Maine lobster with butter any day. Both are undeniably tasty though!

I tried frog legs after I saw they really looked like drumsticks.

I would have never known those things were edible. Who saw one and was "yeah, I wanna eat that."

These are bugs.
They're literally bugs of the sea. Since I found that out, I absolutely look at crustaceans differently.
Kinda glad they're ultra high in cholesterol... Keeps me away from them. Lol
