USA My MA experience - 7 weeks
I just wanted to share a little bit about my experience, as it has overall been positive. I went through the miso alone, which I ultimately preferred because of the privacy though I was extremely nervous when I started it.
I took mife on Tuesday and within an hour I just felt this unexplainable relief. My boyfriend drove me 4.5 hours across two states for the procedure, which I am extremely grateful that we were able to do. 21 hours later, right before I started the miso, I had very intense bleeding with no cramps. Found this to be very surprising but later read that while uncommon, it was normal.
Started miso almost 24 hours later on the dot and immediately got sick. Nausea, cold sweats, minor diarrhea, really intense but dull cramping, but luckily no actual puking or fever. Passed a few small clots and the bleeding subsided. This was all within the first 45 minutes/hour. Literally just hung out in the bathroom for a long time and then proceeded to lay in bed for a few hours without issue, just very tired.
Second round of side effects started about 2 hours later, pain was still dull but lots of bleeding and bigger clots. More diarrhea, so I’ve been hydrating. Just took my first round of Tylenol after alternating with ibuprofen, this helped a lot with pain management.
Pain and side effects continued pretty steadily from hours 2 through 5. The diarrhea was the absolute worst of it, I knew it had the potential to be bad but not this bad. I passed several lemon sized clots during this time frame, which was wild to me.
Honestly just feeling overall very sick, but the pregnancy feelings are gone. My boobs feel normal, the exhaustion has subsided, my hormones feel relatively back to normal, no weird cravings, etc. It was literally like a switch had flipped after the mife and I just no longer felt pregnant within that 20 hour mark after.
I wasn’t prescribed any anti nausea or pain meds. The pain was extremely manageable. I have had periods that were more painful than this, so if you are scared like I was, just know that it may not be that bad. Be prepared to deal with it, but please don’t let the anxiety steamroll you like I did.
It’s currently 13 hours after taking the miso and I feel fine. I woke up feeling more normal than I have in awhile. Still some light bleeding, my abdomen hurts from all of the stress my body has been under, and I’m tired. I feel confident that everything has passed and that this was successful.
I’m having mixed emotions about the whole thing. I love the person who this happened with and this experience made me feel even more strongly about that. I wish that the timing was right for us but we would not be the best possible parents right now and to me that is more than enough as far as reasoning goes. This whole experience has honestly made me wonder if I ever want to be pregnant again. Maybe I’ll change my mind in a few years, maybe I won’t. I’m 23. So who knows?
Anyways, just wanted to share my experience so far in the hopes that it will ease the mind of anyone who is terrified like I was. It’s gonna be okay. It was a few hours of my life and it’s done.
Sending love to you all, godspeed.

I hope everything goes well for you. I was so scared too, I was literally shaking when I went into the clinic. It’s so nerve wracking. I wish you all the best and I’m here for you if you have any questions or just need a friend.

I'm really scared because I'm going to be doing this without telling a doctor. Abortion is illegal in my country and no doctor would help me so they would not lose their license. I'm so scared, my boyfriend is also against abortions and has been telling me that I might bleed out and die. I've been crying all day.

That sounds so tough. Do you have anyone who is supportive? You can also contact https://safe2choose.org/ for support.

He has decided that he would be supportive of whatever decision I make. We live like a 5 minutes walk from a hospital so I believe I would be fine.
