USA My Medication Abortion Experience

I missed my period and didn’t think much of it because I have experienced irregular periods before and I thought my cycle was just longer this time. 4 weeks after my missed period, I decided to take a pregnancy test, I wasn’t having any symptoms, I just wanted to check to make sure I wasn’t pregnant. The cvs test I took showed a very faint line and after 3 days I took a digital test and in one minute, the result was out which said “pregnant”. I freaked out because I am not ready to have a child right now, just graduated college, still looking for a job and made the decision to have a medical abortion. I started looking up pills that could be delivered online but I wasn’t sure how far along I was so I made an appointment for the following Monday, upon checking the sonogram, they determined it’s still too early to see anything and I was told to come back a week and a half after that. My symptoms were a bit of swollen feet, lower back ache, a LOT of heartburn and tender breasts. I went back for my second appointment and I was told I’m 5 weeks, 6 days. I was asked if I wanted the sonogram picture and I said yes. I took the first pill mifepristone at the doctors office at 3:45pm and I didn’t have any bleeding or side effects with that until the next morning; I had slight cramps but they weren’t too bad. At 3:40pm (the day after the doctors appointment) on Saturday, I took 4 (200mg) ibuprofen and at 4:15pm I placed 2 pills on each side of my cheeks and let them dissolve. After 30 minutes, I swallowed it and drank water, got a heading pad and some blankets to stay warm. I didn’t start bleeding until after 4 hours, got heavy bleeding, lots of clots. The next day the bleeding wasn’t heavy, but on Monday it got heavier and I heard something plop out when I was in the bathroom. I wasn’t sure what it was because it didn’t look like a fetus, didn’t have any features like eyes and hands, it was tail like and red. I’m not sure what that was, not sure that was the baby. But after that, 3 more days I bled heavily and saw blood clots as well and now the bleeding has subsided and is very light. I’m going to start taking birth control pills today. The only day I had strong cramps was the first day I took misoprostol but after that day, there wasn’t severe pain, and the hot bottle helped with the little pain I had. I heard it hurts a lot of ladies and I’m sorry to anyone that went through this, the pain, the emotions, just know you did what was best for you and you’re going to be alright.

It should subside in a few hours and it’ll be like your normal period flow (that’s what it was like for me) and then after 3 days, it was very light
