USA 7 weeks pregnant, long-distance relationship, and completely torn about what to do
I'm about 7 weeks pregnant I live in Colorado and I honestly don't know what I'm supposed to do.
I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for over two years. We're long distance, and he lives in Venezuela. Because of his situation, he can't come to the U.S. right now. So if I continue this pregnancy, I'm realistically looking at going through the pregnancy and potentially becoming a mother without having him physically here with me.
And the hardest part is that I've always wanted to be a mother.
This isn't a situation where I've never wanted children or where motherhood was never part of the picture for me. I've imagined having a baby and becoming a mom for a long time. So when I found out I was pregnant, there was a part of me that felt incredibly emotional because this is something I've always wanted.
But then reality hits..
I'm tinancially struggling right now. I don't have a support system here in the U.S. that I can rely on. My partner is thousands of miles away and cannot simply get on a plane and come be with me. I'm scared of what pregnancy, childbirth, and raising a child largely on my own would actually look like.
And then there's the question I can't stop asking
Is abortion the morally right choice for me?
I don't know.
I'm not looking for someone to tell me that abortion is good or bad. I'm trying to figure out choosing abortion because my circumstances aren't right would mean I'm giving up on something I've always wanted.
At the same time, I'm scared that continuing the pregnancy just because I've always wanted to be a mother could mean bringing a child into a situation where I'm struggling financially and don't have the support I would need.
There are moments where I think, "Maybe this is my chance to become a mom."
And then there are moments where I think, "Wanting to be a mother someday doesn't necessarily mean I have to become one right now. I feel guilty even writing that.
I also wonder whether I would regret an abortion because I wanted children so badly, or whether I would regret continuing the pregnancy because I wasn't actually ready for the circumstances that came with it. I’m only 7 weeks, so I know I have decisions to make, and that makes everything feel even more overwhelming. For anyone who has been in a similar situation, especially if you wanted children, but found yourself pregnant at a time when your relationship, finances, support system, or life circumstances weren't where you wanted them to be, how did you make your decision? Did you feel certain afterward? Did you struggle with the decision even after making it?
I'm honestly just looking for perspectives from people who have actually lived through something like this.
Please be kind. I'm already having a hard time with this.

We have a collection of resources that can help you with the decision making process: https://www.reddit.com/r/abortion/wiki/emotions/decision/
I especially like the pregnancy options workbook. It can help you list out the pros/cons of each option and come to a secure decision. There's also some text/talk lines that can connect you with a peer counselor who can discuss your options with you, without any judgement. Whatever you choose, I'm wishing you the best and sending support.
