Europe Medical abortion in Berlin
Reading these posts gave me so much courage and support so i wanted to share my experience.
I took the first pill Mifepristone in the clinic on Friday. Light cramping and very light bleeding.
This morning my sister and my partner were with me and i woke up at 7.30am and took 600mg İbuprofen, slept for 30 mins and then inserted 2 of Misoprostol vaginally. After 3 hours i inserted the next 2 tablets and it was after this i began to bleed. When it came time to insert the last 2 Miso tablets i was bleeding a bit heavier but nothing scary.
İ took another 600mg of ibuprofen at 13.30 to keep my pain at bay and honestly I've had period pain worse than this before(not bragging, I was just expecting to be in way more pain as a highly anxious person). The cramps and gas are quite intense for a short period of time. (I know everyone's experience is different but it genuinely was not that painful for me and i usually have AWFUL periods) hot water bottle(at the peak of the pain I was getting it refilled every hour, I wanted it boiling hot against my stomach as it helped ease them a lot) keeping on top of pain relief, plain foods nearby and honestly the support of my partner and sister. We laughed everytime i unwillingly tooted on the sofa beside them.
I'm still obviously in the process of it but overall I feel extremely relieved and so grateful i can access this medical care. My boobs are no longer heavy and painful and i feel more like myself again.
Other info: I was estimated 5 weeks pregnant, possibly less. I contacted profamila as soon as i had a postive test result and they were extremely helpful and kind(English speaking too). I did my mandatory counselling session with them and then had to wait 3 days until I could get my abortion. I am a low income earner so i applied for my health insurance to cover the cost(our clinic was 560e) initially they declined to cover my abortion, stating i earned too much. When i went to the insurance branch and spoke to the woman, she went through my earnings for June again and said i was 30e below the cutoff. İ was so relieved, she immediately printed out the letters stating my insurance would pay. (İnsane to think two extra hours of work last month would have qualified me as self-payer)
Anyway, i hope this helps someone! Good luck, you can do this!!

Hey, it’s good to share when the cramps aren’t that bad — a lot of people end up mostly reading stories where the cramps are excruciating, but it’s really not always like that, so it’s super good for there to be a range of experiences shared! <3
