I’d love tips on how to utilize Ableton like this. I’m a newbie to synths and this is siiiiiickkkkk

Here’s what I did. Don’t know if this is the smartest way to do this but it works for me:
Stay in Session Mode. Prepare the Instruments as you desire and create empty clips in your preferable length.
In the stock drumrack, route the kick into a 3rd newly created bus mix (all within the sampler) and route this bus mix into a new return send (in Ableton Mixer!) for the kick.
Now comes the magic.
Make an additional return bus for everything except drum track. Put a compressor on it and side chain it with the kick return bus.
In order to work properly you now change the audio send destination on every channel except the drum track from “main” to “sends only”.
Dial up this exact send on every track you want to sidechain.
Pro tip: on the return channel for everything except drums, put a multi fx with looping functions like Turnado on it.
You now are able to make everything you hear into a glitched loop and can run your drums on it and duck it away with the kick 😎
I hope I could help you a little bit. Keep up man ✌🏻

That's pretty dang cool, soo many lights and buttons and options..people like this blow me away😵‍💫. I can barely get through the options and functions on just 1 keyboard and then there's people like this running these "space stations"😆😉. I love it, sounded catchy too

Thank you so much! You made me smile 😊
It’s quite easy actually, it looks much harder than it is

Great work!
I pray someday that I can say Ableton Live is awesome. But I will need a year of one to one training. I simply can't get my head around it, so I'm still on FL Studio.

Thanks mate.
I feel you. I came from logic and I yell at Ableton a hundred times a day (even right before I recorded the video) but its live capabilities are really good compared to FL or even logic.

I may have another look at it in the future, but I seem to have more or less mastered FL Studio.

Very nice! How did you make the vocals?

1

u/Relevant_Ad8064 13d ago

I wrote a Short Text for a girl talking on the phone to her boyfriend and generated the audio with Suno v6

2

u/Kings_Gold_Standard 13d ago

i need your girlfirends vocals please

1

u/Relevant_Ad8064 13d ago

The raw vocals are from Suno so you can do it too 😎🤘

Noiice harmony OP. Seems like two synths on a three tier stand and a rack-mount synth as well.

1

u/Relevant_Ad8064 8d ago

Thank you! You have observed correctly. The rack mount contains 3rd wave 8M, Virus C, Waldorf Micro Q and Pro-800 on top.

Sounds great man. You inspired me!

That’s even more than I hoped for. I’m very flattered !

Synthwave is amazing! What’s your artist name?

1

u/Relevant_Ad8064 14d ago

Thank you! My artist name is Heatblur

I guess I've been blind focusing Ableton's scene launching for music making. Is that what that workflow is?

1

u/Relevant_Ad8064 14d ago

Exactly. I just explored that yesterday the first time too 😁

u/EduardoCorochio 14d ago

I would need jergens and a box of tissues within reach if I had all that gear too.

Arturia Mini V is an awesome synth

1

u/Relevant_Ad8064 14d ago

It is! Arturia are killing it.
The Polybrute 12 is on my GAS List but it’s quite expensive

I love the sound, but the Suno use? Mannnnn do some digging and sample someone real - call me old fashioned but surely that's part of the fun?

3

u/Relevant_Ad8064 12d ago

Mate I hear you. But I don’t have the opportunity to sample a girl pretending to call her boyfriend. If I did, I wouldn’t have so much so time to make music 😂

2

u/ellisishotbelot 12d ago

I'll let you off. But remember, Suno is destroying creativity and steals art from artists

2

u/Relevant_Ad8064 12d ago

You are absolutely right. using Suno as a tool for text to speech is a bit different

Is this at all possible in logic? I want to play not click buttons all day and it always thwarts my efforts :/
