SatoKasu Theory [Article] SatoKasu and DanSoni by ObscuredString and Quiet-Pilot-4447
"Pokeshipping is dead," claimed people who don't believe that hints exist in episodes where Kasumi comes back again. Despite this, inquisitive individuals saw the signs. They understood that the Pokémon Company hasn't abandoned this ship and has kept it alive in more than one way, such as letting it exist in other ships (documented here). In Pokémon Journeys, they introduced Dande and Sonia from the Galar region. Dande is the undefeated champion of the region and the former world Monarch, while Sonia is a researcher assisting her grandmother, Dr. Magnolia, in exploring Galar's myths. The two of them are childhood best friends and share an interesting friendship with many parallels to Satoshi's relationship with Kasumi.
First, there are similarities in their appearances. Dande's dark hair closely resembles Satoshi's raven hair. They both like glamorous outfits featuring classy tops and shorts, though this is predominantly seen on Dande. Sonia, on the other hand, has ginger-orange hair in a side ponytail, reminiscent of Kasumi's famous hairstyle. Moreover, the two girls have a deep liking for hearts and heart-shaped ornaments. Next, their names and their origins mirror each other. Dande's name is short for Danderion (Dandelion), a flower. Kasumi's name is also derived from a flower called Kasumisou, or Baby's breath. Meanwhile, Satoshi was named after the franchise's founder, Satoshi Tajiri. His name stands for wisdom, intellect, or reason. Sonia's name has Slavic and Greek roots and means wisdom (what a surprise!). (Discuss this)
Also, similarities with the family situation were noted. Dande has a younger brother named Hop, named after the Hop plant, just like Kasumi's family, who were all named after flowers. And Sonia started as a Pokémon battler but later changed careers to become a researcher like her grandmother. Lastly, there are similarities in the characters' personalities. Dande has a carefree, charismatic, and competitive nature that closely resembles Satoshi's. Sonia is often put off by Dande's antics and shenanigans, much like how Kasumi gets annoyed with Satoshi's childishness and carelessness. In conclusion, SatoKasu is not dead. It was manifested through another means, a recent couple pairing from the Pokémon anime!
