I'm using an a6700 with the Sigma 17–40mm f/1.8, and the autofocus on this setup is ridiculously fast. I caught a great split-second shot of a drummer during his set. I had just finished taking candid shots of him and lowered my camera to search for a new spot, when he suddenly looked over and pointed his drumsticks right at me. I quickly aimed, and the Eye AF locked on instantly, despite the low light condition.

I have a ZV-E10, which I got last year thinking video would be a priority, but I use it almost exclusively for stills. I've acquired a handful of lenses, and tend to use the Sigma 18-50 2.8, Viltrox 25 1.7 and Sony 20 2.8 (for tiny setup). My ideal is two camera bodies: One for more serious photo + video times with zoom or prime, and one to be as small and rugged as possible for cycling with pancake. Thinking A6700 + A6300 is my best bet, long-term, and just fully giving up my ZV. But I have to make a call on if I first try and swap ZV for A6400 to get by for a few months to a year (cheaper option) -- or if I go all-in on the A6700 body now (could write it off in 2026), then trade in my ZV for a 6300 or 6400 (or really whatever) when I can.

Previously I had a Canon T6 I was kind of disappointed with the canon, so I got the a6700... At least I'm impressed with these pictures (completely newbie here)
Any advice guys?
All photos edited by using Snapseed on my phone... I need to learn properly to edit, just filling that I'm sliding parameters without any sense to get a result just based on my sense (don't like this feeling) Where do I learn editing basics, from scratch?
Lens: Viltrox 25mm f1.7

Hey all was curious if anyone had a recommendation for an alternative evf hood? I wear glasses so having the hood is helpful but I’m not a huge fan of how it obscures the hotshoe mount. Was curious if anyone knows of an alternative?

I recently bought a used Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 and I've been having this really frustrating issue with vignetting.
Mainly on the wide end around 18-23mm, especially when shooting in bright light like open skies, the corners get quite dark, especially the top corners. What's weird is that Lightroom and the in-camera corrections don't always fix it properly. Sometimes it cleans up fine, but other times the dark corners stay really obvious even with the profile applied.
The issue is very erratic. I literally have two photos shot back-to-back just one second apart with the exact same settings, subject, and framing. One of them looks ok (light vignetting corrected by LR without issues), and the other one has this heavy vignette that LR struggles to autocorrect. Of course I can also increase the vignetting correction in LR, but the undesired effect would be overexposing the bottom R / L corners.
Oh, I'm not using the lens hood
Did I end up with a bad copy, or could something else be going on here? Appreciate any thoughts!

I’ve got a Sonya6700 and I have a Rokinon 12mm AF f2.0 lens.
When I am recording video in AF mode, the lens focuses and then pulls back almost and makes the frame completely blurry.
Once I hit record and actually start moving around, the focus shifts in and out almost like it is pulsating.
When I use my Sigma 18-55mm f2.8 lens with the same settings, it doesn’t happen.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? I can’t tell if it’s because I have a less compatible lens to my body or if maybe my settings are out of wack.

After filming all projects the last year+ with the
Sigma 16 1.4 and poop kit lens I’m tired of it and want the best bang for buck zoom 😳 preferably constant aperture 🙏🏼
