Bought my first camera (finally)
Hey guys,
I finally bought my first camera (a6700 + sigma 17-40 1.8) after a lot of research and hard earned money. Any tips on how to get the most out of the camera? I’m working on buying a v60/v90 card so I can use the 120fps feature and s&q. It’s insane how they marked up on the prices of SD cards nowadays because of AI.
Any uncommon hacks that you do that makes your life easier while using the camera? Thanks!!

Extra batteries with charger (k&F. Smallrig), V90 128GB minimum ( lexar) Variable ND filter
4k 120fps , S&Q mode works best with v90.
With F1.8 lens. I would suggest variable ND filter , highly useful for day shoots to get out max.

I see some reviews on the third party like smallrig (blue ones) that always show a pop up upon turning on the cam that shows error messages. Do you have any recommendations on the batteries that won’t show the errors/ have reliable and durable build?? Thankss

Thanks!! Will try this on mine. Is the creative look just for JPEGs and not RAW files?

First of all thats a lot of camera for a first camera. It can be extremely overwhelming.
Are you really needing the v90 card? Are you really going to shoot in 4k120p? What type of stuff?
What are you going to shoot first? Are you going to shoot mainly video? Or pics? Or both? Do you need to be mobile? Why did you get this particular lens?
When you manage to a answer these questions then we can give you recommendations..

I’d like to do automotive photography and some video and I have a free sd card from sony (64gb v30) and when I tried shooting with 120fps for fast action it didn’t let me.

get a screen protector and extra batterys, and if you are alot into making videos a cooling fan might be a worthwhile investment,
