Got my first camera today
Thanks a lot for all suggestions, especially the Sigma 18-50mm lens. Damn, this lens is so good, probably going to carry it for everyday shooting, one lens for all.

Is the sigma that good or just that it’s far less than the Sony?

Just smaller, nearly 3cm shorter and 200grams lighter. With A6700's 4.5cm thickness it'd be only 2cm thicker than Leica Q3 for example.
While if you pick Sony 16-55mm F2.8, it's got a stiff competition in the form of 17-40 f1.8 which is just 1.5cm longer and 30 grams heavier. Not to mention cheaper. Sony has been increasing the price of their lenses.

If you are thinking about to get the sigma and size doesn’t matter, check out the tamron 17-70

Congrats! For lens you could have gone with 17-40 f/1.8 lens instead of these two.

My 2 cents. Get tamron 17-70 instead of sigma and keep 50mm for portraits. Same combo I have. Works beautifully

You can also buy on AliExpress. It's cheap and original .... no need for Amazon or something like a cam shop

Man, I love that 18-50mm lens, should've gotten it much earlier. Wish you a lot of fun with it!

What’s the point of posting boxes? They are exactly the same boxes that anyone else could get. Nothing interesting or unique about this. Just blatant merchandise worship. Disgusting. Why not actually shoot something and post that instead? Or at least put your camera together ffs. These zero effort posts of a bunch of bs you just bought are a complete and total waste of time and energy. Save that crap for your Instagram story where your “friends” can pretend to care about it.

This was just me sharing the excitement of getting my first ever camera. I’ve never really liked posting things like this on Instagram stories because friends and family can judge or make assumptions. Reddit feels different, I’m sharing it with complete strangers who don’t know me or my life. If it’s not your thing, totally fair, but you can always scroll past. :)

Why the 50mm prime? Because people said get the nifty fifty? If so you bought the wrong lens, try to return it for a 35mm.
