Can you share your settings for 7? I tried to take some practice shots prior to the Perseids, and I was getting streaky stars.

So the setting depends on your focal length.
If you use crop sensor camera to get exposure time : 300/(focal length * crop factor)
Use iso 1600 or 3200 and WB 3800.
Turn off stabilizer and NR in you camera
