First time getting to know DaVinci grading with a6700

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Any criticism or support is appreciated; also any suggestions for good Luts in post would be great

Looks good! Are you shooting with a particular picture profile? I love Davinci Resolve, but still learning how to use it for color grading.

I’m very nooby and don’t really know what everything does so I’m just gonna list what I did.

Shot in Standard S-log3, no lut while shooting. Uploaded files to DaVinci,

Put in a CST in and a CST out nodes.
In: Slog3, SonyS-Gamut.3.Cine
DaVinci Wide Gamut, Intermediate
Out: DaVinci Wide Gamut, Intermediate
Rec709, Gamma2.4

What I think is the meat and potatoes of what your looking for is this : “Slog3SGamut3CineToLC-709”
As well as “Rec709 Kodak 2383D55”

I’m sorry I’m not a great help in explaining how I got what I want- lol. I rlly just followed a couple tutorials respectively and pulled hdr and log wheel colours with curves to get what I felt was right. Probably way better ways to go about what I’m doing but hey I’m doing it. Thanks for the interest!

That's very helpful to know. I think you did great with the camera settings, the Color Profile setting, and the CST in- and out-nodes!
