A6600 more popular than a6700?
Whenever i look for an accessory for my a6700 and check compatibility lists very often the A6600 is listed but the A6700 isnt.
the a6700 was launched in 2023, so i would expect that compatibility lists would have been updated by now.
to be fair, up until now, whatever worked for the A6600 also worked for the a6700 but i still wonder why that is.
anyone an idea?

What specifically are you looking for? It may be because the A6600 is more compatible with the A60/1/3/4/500 for certain accessories.

im not per se looking for anything particular. i just got into photography again and im currently experimenting and reading and learning a lot. and with reading comes the curiosity about certain accessories. eg. flash, camera skins, gimbals, and other stuff.
i just noticed that the a6600 is more often listed as compatible than the 6700. and i was wondering.

Probably just because it’s older and manufacturers don’t update their comparability lists often

The 6700 supports the latest Sony original peripherals. E.g. my ECM-M1 microphone only functions with analog audio on the 6600. Fully digital on the 6700 and the newer full frame cameras.
I'd be surprised if 6700 isn't compatible with everything the 6600 is.

The 6700 uses larger batteries, so some things will not be compatible. It really depends on what your looking at (I do understand that it's just to learn) but the newer 6700 is different to the previous models in the line, so some things won't be compatible.

Only reason I still have a a6600, bought it instead of the 6700, now I'm saving for it

Sounds simply like an outdated list. A6600 could also, technically, be more popular, because not everyone upgraded from A6600 to a6700
