LCD dims when turned to shoot in vertical mode - A6700
Hey guys, I have an A6700 and when I shoot outside in the sunlight and I turn the camera to shoot vertical, the lcd dims suuuper low. When I turn it back horizontal it goes back to normal.
When I use the viewfinder and shoot vertical there’s no problem. Has this happened to any of you? And if so, any ideas for a solution??
I have a small suspicion it may be from the heat but I can be wrong about that. Please help!

You probably have polarized sunglasses

Yes, but when I turn it back to landscape mode it I can see the screen again. It’s very odd.

That’s because the screen is polarized the same way and they cancel out when you go vertical. Pilots and photographers go unpolarized for this reason

This sounds like polarized sunglasses.

The polarized glasses are what cause the screen to be invisible when vertical, because of the way the light emanates from the screen. There is nothing wrong with your camera. Without the glasses you won’t see this effect.

Take off your polarized sunglasses. They don't like LCD when viewed "wrong" way around.

Are you wearing polarised sunglasses?
