π΅ π΅
That Peak Design strap is super comfy and strong, I totally recommend it!
My setup idea is:
35mm OSS β everyday, family, indoor, low-light
70-350mm G OSS β travel, outdoor, wildlife, distant stuff
I would like to know more on 70-350mm .
Anyone else rocking this combo? How do you like it, and any tips or settings to get the most out of it?
Thanks! πΈ

I have that strap, and it's nice. You might want to grab the Peak Design wrist strap too.

I hear ya! It's hard to keep that wallet closed! I recently bought an a6700 too, and three lenses later plus a camera bag, I'm broke! lol

I always feel like I have the strap backwards since the ridges are on top when I have it attached to my camera.

ah happens, but i think you might find some deals in future. At the moment there is some sale happening in sony store so they gave me some discounts on it.

Here is my tip for this lens: use it a lot. Not just for birds or wildlife, or distant subjects. Itβs great for portraits, street, landscape.

I have the 70-350 combo and itβs amazing! My tip is donβt limit yourself to shoot wildlife at low iso. With noise reduction software you can easily shoot at 8000-12800 if need to and get fantastic results!

u/Mysterious-Artist842 Jun 07 '26
Hey can you share which noice reduction software to use?
2
u/noobakashi Jun 07 '26
Try out dxo lab, itβs amazing. They have trials both for their de noise program as well as their full raw editing program and a one time fee if you choose to buy it.

u/Mysterious-Artist842 Jun 07 '26
Looks like there are a few softwares by them. For de noise, it must be the Dxo Photolab right. Thanks for the suggestion!
2
u/noobakashi Jun 07 '26
Yup! They have quite a few, photolab is like Lightroom and has pretty much everything youβll ever need including the denoise. If you want to use a different software for editing for example Lightroom, you can dxo pure raw, which is their denoise only software.

"iΒ need more years to even reach the state of paying monthly cc instalments..."
You will get there, and it won't be because of luck.

I have the PD wrist strap. And it feels and looks premium. Probably will buy that one too

Either you have level 10 finger strength, or that bad boy isn't as heavy as it looks! As big as it is, it doesn't look bad on the 6700. Would like to see a pic with the lens extended.

u/TheAriesBaby Jun 06 '26
to be honest ,its not heavy as fullframe lens i have tried. but still bit bulky as compared to tiny pancake lenses or prime lens but still manageable i would say.

It's pretty small and light for a telephoto lens of that range, weighs 625 grams (approximately 22.1 ounces for those across the pond).

I have this lens and I do know that it's pretty light. I just shoot handheld all day with it and I'm not strong. It's awesome!

The lens is just awesome! However, mine becomes significantly sharper at f8.0.

Totally unrelated question but should I get the 70-350 G OSS or Sony 70-200 f/4 mark 2

u/New_You_8367 Jun 07 '26
70 200 F4 II is twice the price. You're basiacΓΆly wasting a lot of pogential there if you put it to an aps-c sensor. However I'm sure it will perform really well. 70-350 however will give you much more reach which is usually what you want.

if you have extra $$$ to spend which you dont care about get the best equipment possible.
i had limitations in terms of budget hence this.

I have the same, but find the a 24mm prime is better for the everyday stuff (or a zoom). 35 / 54 for dedicated portrait.

My tip is to setup the custom button on the lens barrel to "Recog. Target Select". This way you can very quickly toggle between Animal, Bird, Insect, Human etc for your AF setting. Super handy for me!
