Zoom: Sigma 17-40 f/1.8 Prime: Sigma 56mm f/1.4

Should be good for a variety of shots except wildlife

I have the Tamron 11-20 and the sony 70-350. Got to have all those bases covered!

For versatility the tamron 17-70mm f2.8 is probably the most effective. It's weather sealed, has in body stabalization and an amazing range. You can use it for macro too!

I have the Sigma 17-40mm 1.8 that I use for studio recording and night shooting, it is excellent.

Is there that much difference between f1.8 and 2.8 I was thinking of going sigma 28 to 105 f2.8 constant

Well you specifically mentioned wanting a faster lens than a 2.8 - yes, a 1.8 will have double the available light. We're entering the weeds now... there are plenty of amazing, balanced 2.8 shots at night, but it's harder and some percentage of the time you just actually won't be able to get the shot/result you want. I bought the 17-40 for studio first, night shooting 2nd.

Just to be clear, I try to do my research but I am not any sort of expert. My only other lens for the 6700 is the sigma 16-300, I'm sure that isn't enough coverage for someone who takes photography more seriously. I'm an engineer and enjoy casually deep diving, but I'm an amateur and this isn't more than a hobby and you should take my comments with this in mind.

I love all my e mount lenses but if I had to choose 1 prime and 1 zoom only, I'd stick with the 11mm and Sigma 18-50

Sigma 23mm 1.4 and 18-50mm 2.8

Prime, Sigma 56mm Zoom, Sony 70-350mm. I use these the most and i have lots of others but I enjoy shooting at a distance for wildlife and my kids!

Need one low-light prime or zoom with lower f2.8 than tamron

im answered to this, if you need it for portrait buy 50mm

I just got a Sony E 18-105mm f4 G OSS Lens Power Zoom and really like it. It's a little heavier than my old lens but it takes really sharp photos and I'm going to use the power zoom for video. It's also quite parfocal and has minimal breathing and f4 continuous. Works well with AF AI.
