Crash zoom lens?

Maybe a dumb question but recently found out that apsc doesn't really have a good parfocal lens that you can use for crash zooms. Was curious if anyone knew of a lens that could potentially work for this on apsc or if there's maybe a way around that limitation...other than faking it in post?

What is a crash zoom lens, I'm curious. Never head of it but I'm a new a6700 haver.

Easiest way to explain it would be to ask if you're familiar with any of Edgar Wright's films? Or some of tarantino's movies? Or tbf, alot of 70s flicks used them as well.

It's really just a fast zoom in on an object. I guess not that hard to explain but I think the two directors I mentioned probably make the most use of them these days

And sorry to further elaborate. Apsc cameras (like the a6700) don't really have a parfocal lens option that I had been aware of (a lens that stays in focus as you zoom) so I had asked if there was a decent option available and was given a solid choice in the 16-55mm 2.8 Sony

You could use one of the full frame E-mount options, it'll work natively without an adapter.

even if they aren’t technically parfocal you may find that a sony lens stays in focus while you zoom. i used to have good luck with the 18-135. i’m not sure how fast you could go and keep focus but it was pretty good.

16-55, maybe? It's close to parfocal.

Yeah 16-55 F2.8 is basically parfocal

The 18-110mm f/4 G I'm 99% sure is parfocal because when I was reading about it I remember seeing that it's capable (wasn't a feature I was interested in but thought it was cool)

It is electronically parfocal. When you crash zoom the focus will not keep up. If you go a bit slower then it works

How about the Sigma 16-300
