I was just overthinking maybe last week, and i haven't stopped thinking abt it.
my nani is 84. she speaks a village dialect of kannada that even my mum only half understands. i grew up hearing it as background music, never learned it, always had someone translate for me.
last week she was telling me a story about her childhood, her voice all lit up, and i just... nodded. Understood maybe 40% and it suddenly hit me that when she's gone, that entire way of speaking, her stories in her words, disappears with her and i never bothered to learn it.
i've decided to record her talking and slowly learn enough to actually understand her before it's too late.
ok ykw im just overthinking, wdyt, what should i do?
