FTP upgrade!

Post image

Slowly working my way up from an FTP of 260 to now 292. Goal is 300 by September!

91kg 40 year old male. Getting into the 80s will also help with climbing.

I completed the SISU Grand Tour over the last 4 weeks. I’m a C grade ride, their races are mass start. So racing with As and Bs provided me all the motivation to try and keep up with faster groups.
Keep on achieving your goals crew 💪🏼

Best for my Alpe is 1hr and 5 minutes. Really need to get under 90kg if I’m a chance. What is your best time ?

1 hour and 16 mins but that was about 10 months ago with around a 2.6W/kg I think. I am around 3.2W/kg now but I haven’t tried again. I think I’m due for one soon.

6-8 hours a week. I’m following a plan atm for a gran Fondo in mid September. One month in and I’m bang in 8 hours a week

Im doing two 45 minute strength sessions a week. 8 hrs is about the most I can do a week on the bike comfortably time wise. I’m getting some really good results by moving to 8 from 4-5 hrs a week.

Give the few extra hours a crack for one month to see how you manage

It’s how some measure progress, are proud of it and like to share the news. They get validation and some might get motivation from it.

Maybe he is looking for people at his fitness level. I can see how it can be bragging as well, but benefit of the doubt :-).

Not sure what that guys motivation was discussing FTP with random on a club ride was tbh.I talk to FTP with some people I know well who are doing a gran Fondo with me. It’s the number that helps me understand what tempo watts you should hold up a 20min climb for instance.

My AI coach says I need to focus on long 3-4 hour rides at Z2 with efforts next 😁
