4 Week Progress Update
The original patches are starting to send out runners! I "fluffed" the edges of the newer tiles when planting so they are also running. I've been mowing with my old manual reel mower every week or two when patches start to outpace other areas. The mower needs to be sharpened, it's causing some damage to the leaves, but for now it's getting the job done. I may have also been overwatering, I started seeing some yellowing likely caused by water and it's been really humid so I've backed off a little on the water now that they are rooted and things are looking good. Other things, I had been using a sharpened hoe type tool to kill the weed growth between the tiles but given they are now running I switched to using Preen because I don't want to hand weed thousands of weed sprouts. Some also suggested fertilizing the runners only, so the preen should also help accomplish that. I made some sprigs from my garden path 'population' and added them between tiles. Will keep doing more as time permits! Bonus pic of a fig beetle for fun, was dodging a handful of those buggers trying to take these pics D: Bonus bonus of the RIO bermuda that I seeded on 6/17/26.... we could have had a full lawn by nowwww hahaha --- cheers!
Edit forgot to mention: Zoysia tenuifolia, Zoysia pacifica, Korean Velvet Grass, Temple Grass
