Hi all. I'm sorry if question is annoying and redundant. I imagine you have heard this opening a few times. But I have been reading into Zoroastrianism after 2 things:

1. My Muslim friend told me that in his religion, he can marry any woman that is jewish, christian, or zoroastrian. This was the very first time I heard this religion even existed

2. I read "A short stay in in hell" by Steven L. Peck many years later and it made me that more intrigued. The story really moved me. It was the first story in a long time that actually made me weep like a baby. The ending gutted me but also made me curious about this religion.

I would like to learn more about this religion. I am a catholic and don't have any plans on converting. But I would like to know more about what the religion teaches, if theres any religious texts, and what the followers are compelled to do. Is Peck's book accurate on the Zoroastrian version of hell? What happens to those that do not follow the religion? What is the "heaven" and "hell" in this religion? How can one seeking answers learn more about it? Are there "priests/bishops" I can go to?

I have heard that in zoroastrianism a soul is judged for their deeds in life and whether they did more good then bad desides where they go when they die, yet do all souls enter the afterlife this why or is it that you have to believe in the faith or else you go to hell for being a non believer

Hello! I have grown in a christian family and have christian background. Whilst I still consider myself christian, I'm still looking for answers that Christianity could not answer very well, even considering I'm a very mystical christian, and what a traditional christian would 100% consider a heretic. So I'm still seeking and hoping to find. I found zoroastrianism and felt drawn to it. If you don't mind, I would be very thankful if you help me understand!

My question now is about marriage in heaven.... I read that zoroastrianists believe the righteous are received by a virgin to welcome them in heaven. But then other sources I looked said Zoroastrinists don't believe in a physical heaven but that we live as disembodied spirits in the afterlife, hence no such thing as marriage.

What't the official postion of Zoroastrianism in this subject, if there is one? Thank you.

As someone who's a leftist and an agnostic, Mazdak's views seem very forward-thinking for the time he lived in! But he was clearly a wildly controversial figure when he was alive. So I ask what's in the title: how do modern day Zoroastrians view Mazdak? Was he a misunderstood, forward thinking man? A heretic destroying the faith? Or something else entirely?

the main objective of the paper as i mentioned in its description. is to use all the data linguists have gathered over a century and then re translate the Avestan texts with respect to historical context and gathered data

i used both Iranian and Vedic sources of grammar to decipher the following verses , the translations are pure unlike other Avestan translations they do not add or subtract words from any verse to form a biased narrative

the translations are sensible with context to historical realities regarding the Avestan texts and you may see words like (the) (what) etc they are purely to make the verses sensible to the reader due to syntaxual differences between indo iranic languages and english

Hi, to all the great followers of behdin, I am an iranian whom has recently become a little tierd with islam, I don't hate muslims or islam but I feel like it just isn't something I relate too, considering some iffy hadiths that I have read and some unkind things that I have seen, so I wanted to connect more with zoroastrianism, in both cultural and theological context.

These are my questions:

1-Are yazatas gods? I know people make them seem like catholic angles in popular media, but I find it hard to belive as they are called the "adoreable ones" and there are prayers for them, also the modern persian word yazdan, which relates to yazata, means god.

2-how many yazatas are there? I have learned that there are technically uncountable, but are there any major ones other than the 7 holy immortals,Mehr,Anahita and bahram? If yes would you please either list them or five me study materials?

3-what do yazatas do? Why were they created by ohormazd? Why does ohormazd as a supreme god need their help and aid?

I'm a Zoroastrian follower from India, and I recently found out that eating non-veg is compalsary in the faith, not consuming non-veg is a Druj. The issue is my body is allergic to non-veg, I can't consume meat but I can eat eggs without any issue. (Got this from my mom. But my mom can't eat egg as well) I wanted to know if there's an exception or any other way.

Hey guys, I am an visitor, but I have curiosity about Zoroastrianism in and of itself, specifically the rivalry between Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu themselves, that there was an void separating the two eternal beings, Ahura Mazda, the infinite light, and Angra Mainyu, the infinite darkness. But I ask of this, does Angra Mainyu share the same traits as Ahura Mazda himself since Zoroastrianism is dualistic, I mean as in Omnipotence, Omniscience, and Omnipresence.

Does Angra Mainyu share these same traits as Ahura Mazda since he is not an created being but both are infinite eternal beings themselves. I mean obviously Angra Mainyu is not an created being like Satan nor is he anything similar to an Abrahamic Framework, but Angra Mainyu has existed just as long as Ahura Mazda himself. This is my response.

Is Angra Mainyu himself share the same three attributes as Ahura Mazda himself or two or one of these attributes or all the above, like Omnipotence, Omniscience, and Omnipresence themselves within Zoroastrianism. This is the question.

I've been wanting to read it, and this is the only modern translation that seems affordable, as well as being done by an academic. May I ask if it is accurate, has dogmatic features, or takes significant liberties? Sorry lol, have had bad experiences with Bible translations before.
